Congratulations to Lauren Prochaska

Post by nwofalconfan »

Lauren was named as one of 40 finalists for the State Farm Coaches All -America Team. 10 players from the list will be named first team and the rest will be honorable mention All-America.

And Lauren has been nominated before this year too... just hope we don't run into the perennial "super power" teams sucking up all the honors.... she surely deserves AA recognition, in certain ways especially this year while playing on one foot for a good portion of the season... (Of course, most voters won't know this nor will they probably care).

Yes, she made the finalist list last year, too, so she was honorable mention.

Yes, she is most deserving of the recognition. And, I would have loved to see her and her teammates get another shot at OSU.

As a sidenote: While standing in a concession line at the NCAA game, I found myself talking to a fan from Plain City. She was telling me what I have heard over and over about Lauren: she is one of the nicest, most humble star athletes you would ever want to meet.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
