it isn't hard to own a town that has no value and lots of foreclosures...h2oville rocket wrote: Cullop will own this town after this year. (Cue Toledo jokes).

And here, I thought China was going to own it!h2oville rocket wrote:vwfalcon wrote:it isn't hard to own a town that has no value and lots of foreclosures...h2oville rocket wrote: Cullop will own this town after this year. (Cue Toledo jokes).
Good, good...Next?

Sorry waterboy, FAIL. What I said was in no way factually inaccurate. Toledo is spending a lot of money to get all the games at home. No where did I mention that they were losing money in anyway shape or form.h2oville rocket wrote:Redwingtom wrote:For Toledo's sake...I hope they win it all now. Fixed it for you-by the third game revenue exceeded expenditures and after over 5,000 attended the fourth game we're rolling in it! More expensive tickets for the Final Four (a well-worth-it $2 increase to $15) will pretty much assure a sweet return on the University's investment.
Syracuse was tough- beat Ohio State and a number of other good teams and they gave us all we could handle until their bench got exposed in the final minute. The buzz around the program is as loud as I've seen it since the Fennely years, maybe ever. Cullop will own this town after this year. (Cue Toledo jokes).

Too bad your AD can't buy an NCAA bid.

I've also heard that they've given away a large number of tickets for these games. It's hard to make $ giving them away. I'm sure, however, that the exposure is well worth the price, especially for prospective recruits.h2oville rocket wrote:Redwingtom wrote:

Why would he do that? We've had bids in four sports without buying any of them.
Ticket lines were apparently quite long today so it looks like another huge payday for UT.

Free tickets are going to students and the first 100 to stand in line for tix at Savage. The former will be donated by the University and the latter are paid for by someone with a fair amount of jack who stands to get a lot more real soon- Tricia Cullop. That leaves about 5,000 tickets sold. Don't worry about us-we're making out just fine in this tournament. If the finals are here-well, get your tickets early.BGFan wrote:I've also heard that they've given away a large number of tickets for these games. It's hard to make $ giving them away.
