For Toledo's sake...I hope they win it all now. They are spending a bundle purchasing all the games at home.

Fixed it for you-by the third game revenue exceeded expenditures and after over 5,000 attended the fourth game we're rolling in it! More expensive tickets for the Final Four (a well-worth-it $2 increase to $15) will pretty much assure a sweet return on the University's investment.

Syracuse was tough- beat Ohio State and a number of other good teams and they gave us all we could handle until their bench got exposed in the final minute. The buzz around the program is as loud as I've seen it since the Fennely years, maybe ever. Cullop will own this town after this year. (Cue Toledo jokes).

Sorry waterboy, FAIL. What I said was in no way factually inaccurate. Toledo is spending a lot of money to get all the games at home. No where did I mention that they were losing money in anyway shape or form.

Too bad your AD can't buy an NCAA bid. ;)

Why would he do that? We've had bids in four sports without buying any of them.
Ticket lines were apparently quite long today so it looks like another huge payday for UT.

Getting back to the next round for a second...

Charlotte, ut's next opponent, has a 27-8 record like ut. They finished tied for 3rd in the A-10 behind Xavier and Temple. They have an impressive resume including close losses in the regular season to Florida, 76-70, #6 Duke, 61-55, Temple, 70-67, and really only one blowout loss to #7 Xavier, 82-61. They lost games to Duquense and St Bonnie, who along with Dayton and Richmond, all finished tied for 3rd with a 9-5 A-10 mark.

Their WNIT wins include Liberty, 69-57 over South Carolina, 81-77 in OT over Florida (a bit of revenge there) and 79-74 over Virginia. Charlotte is a very good team.

This should be an outstanding matchup!! I wish it was on tv...

One last thing....the WNIT Final Four consists of 3 "mid majors" (ut, Charlotte and Illinois State) and one BCS team, Southern Cal. I like that. If Ill State can beat USC, it will mean a mid major will win this whole thing. Too cool.

As much as it pains me to say this...good luck roc...roc...rock....ummm, go MAC! :-D

I've also heard that they've given away a large number of tickets for these games. It's hard to make $ giving them away. I'm sure, however, that the exposure is well worth the price, especially for prospective recruits.

Free tickets are going to students and the first 100 to stand in line for tix at Savage. The former will be donated by the University and the latter are paid for by someone with a fair amount of jack who stands to get a lot more real soon- Tricia Cullop. That leaves about 5,000 tickets sold. Don't worry about us-we're making out just fine in this tournament. If the finals are here-well, get your tickets early.

Yes she will. I'm not sure she will get the LSU job, but I think she has a very good chance at the Virginia and Wisconsin jobs, outside shot at Washington.

Student tickets are being paid for by the president. 100 were paid for and given out by coach cullop. and for previous games tickets were given out to youth groups but said tickets were paid for by donations by some of ut's donors. For tonights game tickets will not be given out to these groups as far as i know
