Flip, BG did finish 8-5 in the 2007 season...and I agree the teams in 07 and 08 were loaded. 06 we played a ton of frosh and a very difficult sked. The problem was GB could not motivate the teams to reach their full potential every game. They were consistently inconsistent a good part of the time.
While I don't see this team going 10-2 in 2011 (I think I have finally learned to accept there will be down years and not to expect 12-0 every year....I'll let the O$U fans take care of that.
), I do think they can finish with 6-8 wins and be a contender in the East. We were doing fine until Schilz and the O line started to get injured last yr. Played well at Troy & Tulsa and did a number on Marshall.
Thing is this team is still pretty young but we have some very talented players. I have to miss the spring game tonight and that sux. Rush at the Q...so if I can read some reviews and posts after the show, that would rock. 139 days til kickoff in Moscow, comrades. GO FALCONS!
PS...though I don't read bm's posts cuz he's on my ignore list, I noticed his post when Flip responded. "Threw-out"? It that supposed to be "throughout"? "Birdman was right threw-out"? Man, that is bad.

Lets just see at the end of the season where this birdman thing goes, I'm saying 3-9. Vegas has BG not winning three games. Lets do this, You give me 3-1 odds that BG will win more than three games this season . Wire the money to a local bank so we can set up a trust. You put up three grand and I'll match it with 1,000. Season end winner take all, or better yet you make the limit. Not to exceed 6500. We can do this. Jerry Martin at Fifth third bank in Toledo can arrange all detail. Put up man, better yet man up. Why haven't anybody been talking contract for Clawson? He has one year left. I'll give martin a call after break.
