I think its really awkward and pretty awful I assumed we were better then that.
"In the face of a mans death, a Christian never rejoices, but reflects on the serious responsibilities of each person before God and before men, and hopes and works so that every event may be the occasion for the further growth of peace and not of hatred." -Vatican Statement on the death of Osama bin Laden.
To assume that a people who have been terrorized and murdered by this man and his minions for the past 15+ years would not celebrate his passing is ludicrous.
God as my witness...when I was posting the bit about people celebrating in the streets, I thought to myself that there were people on this board who would be bothered by the celebrations and that Globetrotter would be one of them.
Dude, you're getting predictable...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Fine with me. It was predictable that you would take exception with me disagreeing with you. I am happy he will never hurt another person.
Did you see that video at OSU?
"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that" -- Martin Luther King, Jr
I am just glad for Globetrotters sake that the mission occurred late enough in the evening. I would hate for CBS News to interrupt the Amazing Race and Globetrotter not see his teammate finish first place last night. Additionally. Remember NO POLITICS talk allowed in this forum.
I heard someone interviewed on the news today that lost a family member in 9/11 that said he wasn't celebating a death, but rather celebrating American patriotism. I liked how that sounded!!
Btw, on a related note, former Falcon Hockey Assistant Coach, Kevin Patrick lost his brother James in one of the World Trade Center Towers in the 9/11 attack. I remember there was an article about Kevin's loss in the Sentinel not long after he was hired. I have thought of KP and his family a lot today.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

Hey, come on now, I'm just trying to smooth the waters here...er....ok, bad choice of anologies, H20...
And fwiw, I'm personally thrilled the bastard's dead too!

Who isnt thrilled he is dead?
Also why are we giving out so much info on how we caught him. It seems like we might want to keep this stuff secret so we can catch another guy the same way. Another option is that we should have said that his second in command was really an American Operative and told us where he was.
