Yup..that would count. You should have gotten the kneecap and made an ashtray out of it...
My worst auto accident involved rolling a Ford Fiesta a few times...I think one of them end over end cuz there was grass stuffed in the tailpipe. I chipped a vertebrae and compressed two others in that one. Doesn't sound as bad as what you went through though. I'll tell you this...rolling a car is LOUD.
Giving a kidney to a sibling is way better than a knife wound. You get to sound all noble and you own their ass...assuming everything went OK...which I hope it did.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Yep, it did. That was way back in 1987, btw. It worked for him for 10+ years and then received a cadaver kidney. The anti-rejection drugs back then were brutal on the donor organs. They're much better now and it's not quite so crucial to have a family member donate.

It was 1988.

You're lucky. Except for that broken wrist in kindergarten, all my injuries seemed to come within 3 years of each other.
I broke my right foot, my right pointer finger, and my right 5th metatarsal (bone leading to the pinkie finger) between my junior year of high school and freshman year of college.
Good news - I'm left handed

OK, we'll play "Match the Flipper". I rolled a Ford Bronco three times end over end up in the Soo and got thrown about 60 feet away. In fact, the police saw me walking up and asked if I saw the accident. Then they looked down and saw that the bottom of my foot was pointed straight right and I was walking on my ankle with that little knobby ankle part up around my knee- snapped it off clean. Still have a screw with a little piece of bone stuck to it somewhere. My buddy was somewhat less fortunate but he got much cooler scars. Lesson here is that its difficult to sleep AND control a car at the same time.
Oh yeah...Well...I rolled my car and it landed upside down. I pushed open a door and crawled out to hail a passing car. This guy and his wife got out to check on me (man I could start lying and turn this into Penthouse forum, but I won't). The guy and me pushed the car back right side up...kind of a stupid thing to do with a chipped vertebrae...
My list for the past three years is...2008: softball sized growth and 1/2 my thryroid removed from under my sternum. 2009: distal bicep tendon surgicaly reattached. 2010 potato sized growth and other half of thyroid removed from under collarbone. 2010: snapped humerus put back together with a plate and six screws.
I'm hoping to make it through 2011 without any surgery...

Didn't you have a chainsaw injury somewhere in there? And something after that???

You win, Flip. By the way- is the car story the basis for the name "Flipper"? I've been relatively injury free since my fifth ankle break at 48. Got a nice scar on my knee from a climbing fall but the scar is way too cool for the extent of the injury-I'm almost ashamed that I got a scar at all.
With the size of the various growths you've had removed you should be pretty svelte these days, yes?
5th ankle break? Same ankle? I've broken my left arm 4 times...all the major bones at least once and the humerus and ulna twice...but a five time ankle break beats that.
I wish I was a svelte SOB...no thyroid means disruptions in energy levels for a looooong time whie they adjust the meds. I peaked at 330lbs in Feb abd I probaby weigh 315 right now....

Ahhh, I just wanted to use "svelte" in a sentence.
