I love how the bill of sale showed a sale price of $0, yet somehow nobody saw a problem with that.

Mauk could not explain it. "I don't give cars for free," he said. Gibson said he was unaware the title on his car showed zero as the sales price. "I paid for the car, and I'm still paying for it," he said, declining to answer further questions.
Neither guy is lying. The car was not free, and the player paid a down payment and is still paying for it. Down payment was a bowl game ticket with semi-yearly installments of autographed jerseys. Perfectly legit.
MarkL has spoken.

Embattled Ohio State head football coach Jim Tressel has no plans to quit and he’s hired a big legal gun to represent him before the NCAA’s Committee on Infractions on Aug. 12

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

He also had his SID demoted. He's still in control and doesn't plan to leave. The NCAA needs to come down hard on this program.

Here is something I read on Sports By Brooks this morning.
Sports by Brooks
OSU defensive tackle Doug Worthington charged with DUI
Here's some "journalism" for you - except for one tiny detail: Worthington was driving an Escalade w/ vanity plate that didn't match the registration and told arresting officer that the "dealer" told him to put his old plate on the Escalade until his new plate arrived. Oh, and the arrest of Worthington was moved from off-campus to on-campus so OSU police could 'process' Worthington. #GOBUCKS

Great...fight this to the bitter end, Tressel. A decent person would look at the hundreds of violations run up under your supervision and quit out of shame...but you, you're different. You're a craven, crooked, SOB ...

I still respectfully disagree 87 and I love that he has hired this lawyer and is fighting it. He and the school look dirtier everyday he remains head coach.

If the man had 1/100 of the integrity he claims to have he would have resigned when this all came out. I don't think he will make it past August. If he does I will eat a bug (circa AZZ 2004-5 maybe ;) )

Actually, I hope he stays. As long as he is there we can chide the buckeye's and their inscrutable fans!

Is that straight up or do you get to add barbeque sauce, or some Spicy Garlic from BW-3.

And do you have to eat that bug without anything to drink (should) or something to drink (sort of cheating).

We'll leave that up to 1987.

Good point, Tom. BTW, sorry to see your Redwings fall just short against San Jose...heck of a comeback to force Game 7 after being down 3-0.

IIRC, the eat a bug thing goes back to at least 2003. I saw it on an SCTV dvd...there was a quiz show bit with a contetstant who kept saying "If I'm wrong, I'll eat a bug".

So...I'm taking credit for it. well Joe Flaherty should take credit for it...it was his bit. Man, SCTV was a great show.

Yeah...the series was dead even in goals and total shots I believe. You just can't get down 0-3 and expect to overcome that!

The Wings need another forward that can score and a physical, top six quality defenseman to get over the hump.
