I hate Lebron

Post by Globetrotter »

Bulls fan.....Hey, Whatyaknow, Lebron made stupid facial expressions after every play again tonight. I hate him more then the Bulls plan to run the Lebron only Cavs offense with Derrick Rose and ignore the fact that Deng and Boozer can score baskets at the end of regulation. The stand around and watch the best player play basketball offense. You dont have Mo Williams to pass to. You have real legitimate players... use them.

Damn...The Heat are looking pretty good right now. The Bulls had that game for the taking last night and failed to capitalize. Guess I better look at becoming a Dallas Mavericks fan now. 3-1 isn't impossible to rebound but pretty improbable.

I have already accepted the fact that Miami will soon be NBA Finals Champions. It's inevitable.

I'm pulling for Dallas but I do like to watch James. Great player and in spite of being kind of full of himself, he seems to have managed his fame and fortune a whole lot better than a lot of young guys. Plus he's a Yankee fan and proud of it so he MUST be all right. Still, Dirk and Jet deserve a title and I think Cuban is a delightful sort of idiot so here's hoping Miami has to wait a year.

Apparently you were one of the ones who didn't get to read this before ESPN s**t-canned it.

So?

The dude has been told since he was in HS (and probably before) that he was awesome. He was coddled as the athlete who could do no wrong. He was put on SI covers. He was taken #1 in the NBA draft, and he has made a FORTUNE before his 30th birthday.

All the while he lives up to the LOFTY expectations set forth for him, he has stayed out of any serious legal troubles, and rarely is he in the news for the "wrong reasons." The article you posted illustrates a wealthy young man with a huge ego (as just about ANY pro athlete has), and not much else. If I were making 8 figures a year you can bet your ass I'd be hosting parties in Vegas and rolling around wanting people to look at me too...he likes to be the center of attention, he's not the first guy to be that way.

Yeah, he's a whiner on the court, but he's hardly the only guy in the NBA that deserves that label. Yeah, the way he left Cleveland was kinda shitty, but I think we all knew he was leaving and it was certainly his right to do so...the ESPN special was classless, but if that's the worst thing we can say about LeBron I think it's pretty fair to say that he has handled the fortune & fame better than most kids his age would/could have.

LeBron is the best basketball player on the planet, and the only player that has made me want to watch NBA basketball in years. I'm not going to hate on him just because he has an ego and KNOWS he's the best at what he does.

No, the worst thing to say about him is that he quit on his team in the 2010 playoffs against the Celtics.

True dat...had LBJ played LAST year like he playing THIS year, Cleveland very well could have been in the Finals. But no, he quit on the whole team, fans and City of Cleveland to make it easier for him to leave. The whole behind the scenes workings of him, Wade and Bosh to end up in South Beach are shady at best but hey, it's the way it went down. I hated the way he left the Cavs organization but at some point ya move on and forget it.

I don't see the BiG deal about him in Vegas. He does handle himself pretty well for the most part. If he wants to run around Vegas spending his money and hanging out with his posse, who cares? It's his life.

All that being said, GO DALLAS. :-D

You will never convince me that he "quit" on the team. He carried that team, and without LeBron they would have been (and were this year) one of the worst teams in the NBA.

He didn't quit on his team...he had some bad games, and that happens to the best players occasionally.

The entire city of Cleveland seems to act as though LeBron owes them something. He gave them some of the best years the Cavs have ever had...not sure why that's not enough.

Sorry bro...don't see it that way. Maybe cuz you're not a Cavs fan and that's cool. But in my book, he quit and nothing can be said to convince me otherwise. Yeah he was the best player by a long shot on the team but he wasn't the only player. Dude, the reasons this team had a bad record this past season were numerous. LBJ, Shaq, Z and Delonte West all booked. The injuries were unbelievable...some nights we had D league guys playing against the world's best players. Byron Scott was in his first year and installing a whole new system. Cavs fans knew we were gonna have to rebuild but didn't expect all that.

I do believe Dan Gilbert will spend whatever he has to to bring a title to Cleveland...it's cool to finally have an owner willing to spend the jack in Cleveland after stiffs like Modell and Stepien. It's gonna take some time but the Cavaliers will be back....

Let's not forget that LeBron basically hand-picked the players that played with him. Dan Gilbert wanted to get Amare, LBJ said he wanted Jamison instead. Why? Because imagine trying to leave a place where you've got two superstars who just won a championship. LeBron decided to leave Cleveland 7 years ago and losing with Jamison made it easier than winning with Stoudemire.

Not to mention LBJ could basically do whatever he wanted in the arena...so could his posse. He answered to himself only and everyone knew it. Gilbert was willing to give him whatever he wanted to win a title...but as Vdub said, his mind was made up years ago. At least he honored his contract...unlike some players.

LBJ is gone and never coming back...and I'm ok with it. He was part of something special and he won't get the love anywhere else he got in Cleveland. Hell, the Cavs still had the 3rd best attendance in the NBA last year...ahead of Miami, LA Lakers and Boston, to name a few. And I believe the Cavs fan base will continue to support the organization even more since all this went down.

Sports is a business and LBJ is a businessman...end of story.

Actually, if I were going to pick a team, I am a Cavs fan. I don't watch a ton of NBA basketball, but I definitely root for the Cavs above all else. When LBJ was in Cleveland I watched them often, this year not as much. Although I did have a good time attending the game that ended their losing streak this year.

I realize that the Cavs had a myriad of issues that made them worse this year than they should have been. Still, LBJ is worth about 20-30 wins himself.

As for what Gilbert did to coddle him, I think that's his own doing. LeBron is a great player, but I still think what Gilbert did was wrong. You can't let him make all the calls in building that franchise, which is what Gilbert did. I guess he figured if he bowed to LeBron he'd be more likely to re-sign there, but clearly that didn't happen. He should have done what was best for the TEAM. In the end, LeBron clearly showed he wanted to play with one of his buddies (and in doing so actually showed less ego, IMO, by going to his buddy's team).

I think Gilbert's a damn good owner. I think he'll do whatever it takes to build a winner in Cleveland. Still, I think he screwed up by trying to bend over backwards pleasing LeBron at every turn. He should have done what was best for the team, and then they might have won a championship while they still had LeBron. Sure, he had made up his mind years ago that he was leaving Cleveland, but so what? That was his right...he's not a slave to Cleveland just because he was born in the area, and drafted by the Cavs. With the way he played, for all those years, you will never convince me he gave up and quit on them. He was quite possibly the greatest player in Cleveland sports history...who just happened to have some poor timing for some bad games.
