Saw this on the bgsufalcons.com. Looks like were not getting the recruits to rebuild.

Men's Soccer Tryouts In February

Join the BGSU Men's Soccer Team

Jan. 10, 2005

All Bowling Green students interested in joining the BGSU men's soccer team can attend open tryouts on February 14 and 16 from 5:30 to 6:30p.m. The tryouts will be conducted in the fieldhouse turf room.

Those students interested are instructed to first be medically cleared by the student athlete training center located on the east side of the football stadium. Please bring indoor shoes, socks, shinguards and a light colored t-shirt as well as a dark colored t-shirt to the tryouts.

Don't take that the wrong way. All teams at BG have walk-on tryouts, and has nothing to do with recruiting. That being said, I am sure there are plenty of opportunities for walk-ons after last years performance!

What I find encouraging is that while we have arguably the worst men's soccer program in the MAC right now, we probably have one of the longest coaching names in the conference on staff:

Tony Economopoulos

Maybe if my knee is healed!!! Ha, I'd be massive out there compared to those guys. Maybe they could just stick me in the goal, I'd hardly have to move :D

...Which is a damn shame because historically we probably have the second most successful, behind Akron, and arguably the most history , dating back to the father of MAC soccer Mickey Cochrane.

I was just trying to find something positive. I have no doubt that we will rebound soon enough. It seems odd to me to have to advertise for open tryouts for the soccer team. Hopefully with the SAC being built we can start recruiting some talent rather than hoping the next Pele will somehow just register for microbiology.
