Any Anderson Arena updates yet?

Post by BGSU33 »

With all the talk focused on the Stroh Ceter, does anyone know if any work has started over at Anderson Arena for the gymnastics program moving in yet?

Not yet. Have to move basketball coaches and volleyball coaches out of the building. Can't do much until after Boy's State (because we won't have the keys to the Stroh Center when BBS occurs this year)

Eventually we will be hosting SIX meets each year (but not for the 2011-12 season)

Is the gymnastics program excited about the opportunity to move into Anderson Arena? I would hope so. I am glad Anderson Arena will continue to serve as a home for an athletic program with basketball and volleyball moving out.

Gymnastics is more excited than you can possibly imagine to have a new but broken in home for the 2012 season. It will be nice to have such ammenities as an actual locker room and not plywood put up as a temporary structure. Hopefully they are able to remove most if not all the floor bleachers along with the south stand on the upper level. I will be SO glad to be out of Eppler and into an actual athletic venue. I just hope everything runs smoothly and the renovated facility is as promised and not chopped down. So many of our other programs have great facilities. It is far past time for gymnastics to get the same.
