Keep yourself out of the papers.....

Post by HoopsFan »

I don't think Ball State did themselves any favors here http://www.thestarpress.com/article/201 ... ity-s-case

Would that bring a new meaning to the phrase "Nice to see you?"

My daughter could cross Ball State off the list of schools that she is interested in playing softball for

They can go over to the Ice Arena for some privacy.

There is a restroom out there they can go to (over near the tennis courts).

There are some places they can walk to for some privacy when they change. Plus the baseball team does not have (at least not that I am aware of) a locker room out at Steller Field.

How does the baseball team not have their own lockerroom? They have only been the best mens sport at the university? That is really ridiculous .....just shows why our sports programs all stink. No common sense..

Reading that article, I fail to see why the private donor is taking any heat for this. A private donor is allowed to donate funds to whatever they wish. Mr. Stroh donated funds towards to a basketball arena that happens to benefit both men's and women's basketball, and volleyball. This private donor donated funds to a new baseball lockerroom. If they want to make it fair, they could make the lockerroom a shared lockerroom, I suppose.

I guess ADs would need to: raise money from other sources to get equivalent resources, explain to the first donor that $ would need to be shared. If they actively sought $10,000 in additional funds for the explicit purpose of refurbishing an existing space but did not attmpt to reaise funds for a team that had NO space-well, that would be pretty lame.

When I ran everybody had the same type of facilities- lousy. Hoops, track, wrestlers, etc all dressed in the old Field house in lockers from the forties. Now the lockerrooms have huge murals of current players, flatscreens, leather furniture, unbelievable facilities. I think the golf teams even have a lockerroom although they don't play at Savage much.
