Did Greg Christopher really play football at Miami?
Did Greg Christopher really play football at Miami?
It has been reported that GC supposedly played football at Miami but...........a friend (Miami grad) checked all of the rosters while he was there and he is not listed on ANY roster. Anyone else know or have anymore knowledge?

When he was first hired, we had heard that he was one of the radio guys for the hockey team. If that is the case, I doubt if he played football, since the seasons overlap a bit.
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

He was on the team, but from what he told me, he saw very little playing time on game days.
I think he did the hockey broadcasts later.

I heard he wore a clip on tie to spring formal....

I heard he blames Brandon for his lack of playing time at Miami.

If he was on the team, wouldn't he be on the roster? He certainly would NOT have any playing time if he wasn't on the roster. It is certainly time to dig a little deeper on this.

I completely agree. If he lied about playing football at Miami University, then he absolutely should not be an Athletic Director. That is just completely obvious!factman wrote:transfer2BGSU wrote:He was on the team, but from what he told me, he saw very little playing time on game days.

ROLL ALONG!!!
Re: Did Greg Christopher really play football at Miami?
If he played, he would have to be on a roster....I wish this guy would save everyone the trouble and just resign or leave for another job. The only sports he hasn't fired the coaches are womens bball, baseball, tennis, womens soccer and mens golf. That is a lot of turnover in 5 years, plus the only hire that has done anything is Orr, and that was with Dakich's recruits. Attendance is down across the board, and people around the community are turned off. Sometimes things just don't work out. Get an AD who is committed to having strong athletics programs all around, maybe someone who worked under the old Kent AD.

Re: Did Greg Christopher really play football at Miami?
From his bio at BGSUFalcons.com:
"He earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from MAC-member Miami University in 1988 and earned his MBA from the institution in 1991. He played football for one season before the former linebacker’s career was cut short due to injury. In 1987-88 and 1990-91, Christopher was involved as a television color commentator in football and play-by-play voice for men’s ice hockey which aired on regional cable television and WPTD-TV in Dayton. He also served as a graduate assistant in the Office of Admissions at Miami in 1990-91."
I'm not saying this information is true, and I'm not saying it's false. I just thought you might want to have this information before you start blaming Gregg Brandon (who most certainly did NOT play football at Miami).

I don't believe he's fired the volleyball coach. Also, IS this a lot of turnover in 5 years? I wonder if other MAC schools have had just as much turnover in that time?Drago wrote:If he played, he would have to be on a roster....I wish this guy would save everyone the trouble and just resign or leave for another job.
