The player probably said, "I really appreciate your enthusiasm and energy at our games." They never said, "I really appreciate the way you scream at the refs and act like a fool." They appreciate your enthusiasm. But, has it ever crossed your mind that people express their enthusiasm in other ways than to stand the entire game, pacing back and forth along the sidelines, screaming obscenities at people and acting like they have a severe handicap? Just something to think about.

Oh, and using a catch phrase from the WWE (WWF at the time) isn't exactly helping your case much.

Dustin If a player has said to keep yelling like you do, I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall. One of our coaches has asked that people cheer for the team positively & support the players with pride. Yelling at the refs & opposing players just fuels them up for "bad calls" & more made shots respectively. Please tell me you will pay for reserve seat, cheer for the Falcons & sit down so others can see behind you.......that is if you are going for front row. The Stroh will gain an atmosphere, hopefully it will be loud and proud. I wouldn't want to cross the aformentioned coach about yelling at refs and opposing players.
We have a new venue. Can we be state-of-the-art? Find some new ways to rattle the other team (THINK) while building the Falcons up. Waiting to watch BiG video board to find out what Jess Slagle has designed as intros for all three teams. New & improved...... soo should the fans.

AND where are you planning to stand...........hope to find my seat in section 103, row J, seat 16 I know I'll be heard......already yelled "BG" got "SU" after friends on tour caught their collective breath.

I can tell you firsthand, yelling at the referees does not do a thing. I referee high school basketball and if I hear something from the stands, I don't pay attention. The referees only care what is happening on the court; not what somebody in the stands thinks about a call. And believe me, if I can do that in high school basketball, a college referee with much more experience (and quite frankly, much better than me) can do it too.

I thought it was such a blast yelling at the referees before I became one, then I realized how stupid it was once I stepped foot on the court in black and white stripes.

of course i am going front row i wouldn't think of sitting anywhere else to sit for Basket Ball games! my seat will be to the right side of the half court line directly across from The Falcons! AND if i so choose to stand up during a game i will, why?! because i can and if others can't see they can stand up! :-D

Dustin...you are almost as bad as the people who don't cheer at all. You're the fan that wants to make himself "part of the game". People aren't there to watch you act like an idiot...they're there to see a basketball game. But I know..you don't care, it's all about what you want. You remind me of my daughter...when she was four.

don't even compare me to the "fans" who don't cheer i ain't like them what so ever, i can bet that my family and i went to more mens and womens games last year than other supposed "Fans"!. :butthead: i might not go to some of the guys games until halftime but at least i show up and support them unlike most "fans"! so you got no right to criticize me, and also i never swear at the officials, cause if i did i would have been thrown out and gee i don't recall ever being thrown out of any game! unless i have amnesia?! or are you spewing out random sentences just to make yourself look good? it sure seems like it! :-D :!: :?: :finga:

Dustin, I don't know why you are continuing this discussion. You know how a lot of us feel. If you yell at officials and opposing players (even if you don't swear at them), it doesn't help out our teams any. I will agree with what BGSUE said. The women's coaching staff does not like to have negative things going on. They want the crowd to be loud, proud and positive. They want the fans cheering for BGSU not being negative about the opposing team. Will we boo and be loud with our disagreement? Sure, but it ends quickly and we move on. Remember at the Stroh you may or may not get the seat you want. A priority point system has been created. If someone with more points wants the same seat, they will get it not you. You may have to more considerate of the people around you. They may have a different idea as to whether to stand up or not. It is time to learn to compromise a little bit, not just say it is my way and to heck with what anyone else wants.
