I just watched the interviews posted on the athletic department website. Between this and what I've seen this whole spring and summer, some thoughts ...
- All reports I've heard indicate that the QB play will be night and day different from last year.
- There is great depth at WR we haven't seen since 2007.
- Great words about the tailbacks. Jordan Hopgood seems to me to be the 3rd and short guy, and I think Pettigrew is primed for a breakout year.
- Offensive line still has a lot of work to do, but there is far more depth there than last year. I sure hope the injury bug doesn't decimate them again.
- Defensive front seven should be great. I know we run more or less a 2 LB set this year so I consider Keith Morgan to be part of the front 7.
- Secondary could be raw.
- Clawson knows what he's he's doing and is booming with confidence I haven't seen since 2009.
- Before the Toledo game in 2009, Clawson insisted that the team was motivated by being the best team possible, not by wanting to splatter a team they really wanted to beat. That game was awesome. He's saying the same thing now. I like it.
- The players would run through a brick wall for each other and for Coach Clawson. You can see it in Schilz and Hurley, for example. These two are competing for starting time but they both want the other one to excel. There is great comradery among this team and amazing respect for their coach. This team is going to be fun to watch.
Can't wait for the season!

And THAT will determine what kind of season these kids will have!!! Teams that bond and respect their coach will do things that NO ONE expected!! Based on this observation, I'm expecting good things from the Falcon Football Team!!!MarkL wrote:The players would run through a brick wall for each other and for Coach Clawson. GO FALCON FOOTBALL!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
