Nicholas - who is a bit shy when he first meets people - has a bit of confidence and security knowing he can visit the tail gate and see some familiar and friendly faces. To have FF and her daughter stop by and visit him last week was VERY nice. He has been talking for the past year about being able to visit the tail gate and see people he has met here at the hockey games and elsewhere. So thanks to everyone.

Roll On My fellow BG Warriors.
We picked up Nicholas and took him to the Fall Sports Kick Off at the stadium today, which was kind of boring compared to other years. He said things are going well and appreciated getting out of the dorm! We discussed the upcoming first tailgate vs. Morgan State.

See Dad, I am keeping an eye on him!!!! :-D

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

LOL - Thanks. I sure Nicholas really appreciated spending time with you today.

Hopefully he'll tell me about the Kick-off.

There was a HUGE kids' soccer tourney going on EVERYWHERE around the stadium. I've never seen so many soccer nets, players, parents, kids and vans parked everywhere! I am sure there were people who tried to come to the Falcon event and ended up turning around and going home. You couldn't drive around the stadium (had it blocked off) and parking was limited. Since we had to park at the Stroh, we also spent some time looking at the B!G bronze Falcon and the bricks around it.

Awesome! One of my fraternity brothers is an RA in Centennial - I was actually there working with him today on some paperwork for the brotherhood. Like you said - the dorm is fantastic. Wish I had that when I was on campus - might have made me stay on campus for the two years instead of applying to live off-campus.

Maybe it's shameless self-promotion, but one of the reasons I'm promoting it is because I am the Math & Stats Coordinator at The Learning Commons, and we are getting ready to move into a brand new space in the library at the end of this week. That, and I've seen first-hand the impact we can have on students.

I think it's great that we have this kind of place for students! With more and more kids coming in with learning disabilities (NOT lower IQs, btw!) and ADD (not hyperactivity; difficulty focusing), I can see the need for something like this!!
