Amazingly, power returned without warning. Spent the morning hauling sandbags and cleaning the garage. By mid-afternoon, we were just about back to pre-Irene conditions. Honestly, it couldn't have been much better. We didn't get flooded, the house didn't sustain any damage, no one was hurt, no food was lost. Heck, my beer didn't even get warm (though I made sure to drink several, just to be safe).

All in all, very thankful.

Hope everyone else weathered the storm just as well.

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Flip:

Hurricane coverage bored me to death until I moved to the East Coast. Now when I see chatter about tornadoes in the midwest, I tend to ignore it (unless it's close to my hometown).

If I were living near BG, I would have avoided The Weather Channel for the entire week!

Judging by the posting activity on the Football Board, it appears that Hurricane Irene must have flooded Birdman's parents' basement.
