Thinking about betting on my first sports event...Toledo OSU

I have never done it before but would it be sacrilege to bet on Toledo. I think they have a legit chance to win that game and then you add in the spread.

I don't really know what to expect of OSU this year so I wouldn't touch it personally.

OSU returns 8 starters has a new coach, all new skill position players, chaos all over and Toledo has 18 returning starters.

Didn't he retire like 3 years ago?

Setting aside my personal feelings about betting all I can say is that if you are using the information that UT has eighteen returning starters PLEASE don't bet. You are the guy the bookies love. UT does NOT have eighteen returning starters. I'd do a LOT more research before I bet this one.

Depends on the line. Anything over a 3 touchdown spread and I'd take the points. Ohio State is going to be very mediocre this year, I'm forecasting 7-5 for them.

I certainly hope you are right but I don't see them losing 5 games with that weak non conference schedule. They can beat half the teams in their conference with shear talent alone because the Big Ten lacks top 15 teams.

I would love to see them lose one of these early games and see things snowball from there though. I am OK with Toledo winning one game this year. That one.

I think you guys are underestimating Ohio State a bit too much. They may have lost a lot of personnel but there were plenty of guys waiting in the wings and now, due to all the distractions, those guys will be playing with a chip on their shoulder all season. Chips can do quite a bit. Just look at Erik Estrada.

I would be surprised (pleasantly) if they finished worse than 9-3.

Exactly. From what I hear (and most of you will probably agree but the loss of Pryor is addition by subtraction. My nephew tutored a number of players in Chemistry and he says the players he talk to are excited about the upcoming season and seem to have some additional enthusiasm that he thought was lacking in previous years.

Of course they are. With several starters gone they move up into positions where THEY can start getting free tattoos and stuff.
