Hoe dancing? What?
Well, I guess when you're from Michigan you see what you want to see...

Your cheerleaders were banging, I'm surprised they couldn't get a rise out of your student section (of course, no pun intended)
Hawkins is a standup guy, ask anyone in Kalamazoo.
Ben is emotional and a team leader, and I can see how it would rub someone the wrong way, but he does what he does, the team responds more often then not, I am not embarrassed by his behavior.
If I were in the BGSU student section I probably would have voiced some ditest with him, still can't understand why you guys didnt' BOO him when he go the ball.
Mike, that is the worst attitude you can possibly have about your team. What you basically just said to me was that as long as Reed produces he can do whatever the heck he wants. Watch it with that attitude. That is the reason that Marshall is known to many as the "Huntington Educaitonal and Correctional Facility." Don't mean to be offensive to you at all, but you need to think about how the university is being represented as how the w/l column is being maintained.

How is Ben showing emotion on the court and me not minding that he is emotional a bad attitude? In no way did I say he can do whatever he wants and get away with it as long as he remains a stud.
Ben is not in trouble off the court, he gives back to his community in Battle Creek, his grades are in check. The Broncos run a clean program (check how they handled Brian Moten). The players are student athletes I don't see Western turning towards A Marshall attitude at all.
Neither do I. That's a solid program that plays very good basketball (though physical), and has come back on top after losing the MAC POY. We might not like Reed, but if he wore orange and brown, we might feel differently. Its not Marshall, for heaven's sake. We got a look today at how good we need to be.

I would assume that there were probably 3-500 students at the game and there were instances when a pin drop could be heard. For those of you who really enjoy this team you should make a point to support them on every possession, because that type of crowd will WIN you these games.
Congrats on the big win today. You have a fine team there.
To comment on your crowd comment, I have to agree. I wasn't able to get to the game until they were announcing the players. When I walked in and saw the crowd I was thrilled. Boy was I disappointed. The crowd meant nothing today. I think it was louder in AA during the break when the students weren't around, had about 2,000 in the building, and us avid fans sat in the floor section. Sad to say, but that is how I felt today.

Congrats to Western on a great win. The better team won. I thought the officiating wsa horrible, but Western was still the better team in spite of that. As for the crowd, I too thought it was going to be loud. Man this student crowd has gotten lame!!! I hope most of the students wake up and actually cheer when Toledo comes. Make some freakin' nose!!!!!!!!!!!! We used to do like Crazies did and chant 'ahhhhhhhhh' before tip off and thru out the game, but none of that today...

I think he wants to be a media star and it shows. We recieved many compliments from your fans, so thank you unbehalf of us all for treating us with class.
I don't think there was cockiness. He pointed up to the fans who were supporting him. I was actually about to hobble over and give the ref crap if he penalized him for that. Players showing respect for the fans gets an A in my book...

According to your SID on the pre-game radio show, that's exactly what Reed wants opposing fans to do. The SID said he gets positive energy from the crowd razzing him.
Coach Hawkins and his post-game comments. Sounds very classy to me.
Coach Steve Hawkins
"Obviously, this is a great big win for us. Coming into the game, I honestly thought Bowling Green was the best team we have seen so far this year and I just love the way they play. For us to come in here, and obviously there is a little emotion involved with the game in two 4-0 teams in the MAC, the last undefeated teams, to be fortunate to enough to get away from here with a win is very big for us."
"Almanson, I made the comment before the game, it is great to see him back on the floor. I didn't care so much for all that scoring that he did against us, but it is so good to see a kid that has gone through the injuries that he has gone through, get back on the floor and be able to compete and perform well."
"With all their motion, it is a clinic with how they run their offense, so we couldn't tire out, we have plenty of time to rest tomorrow. There is no way you can let up with these guys because of how well they shoot it. I mean it is ridiculous. ...You look at there conference stats, they've played four games and they were shooting 57 percent coming into the game. That is almost illegal to shoot the ball like that. Incredible. So we were very concerned about our defensive end of the court, there offensive end."
"Dan I consider, I said it when I came into the league five years ago, I think he is the best coach in the conference, one of the best I've ever seen. I really look forward to when we recruit in the summer, sitting down and spending time with Dan because I learn, I really do. I think he does an unbelievable job and the preparation they put in, they prepare for us as well as anyone does and they take away what you like to do best."

Then consider the loss and his play my fault. We were directing comments to him all night in a negative manner.

McMetz811 - I was directing my comment to KalamazooMike...he said he couldn't understand why our student section didn't boo Reed. Geesh, give me a break! I didn't blame YOU or ANYBODY for anything...I was stating what I heard on the pre-game show.
I have been gone from the boards for quite some time. When I do come back, I'm not liking the playground atmosphere - BG fans attacking BG fans with snippy comments, etc.
Before someone else tells me, I'll say it...it is my choice to come here to play and post. If I don't like it, I know what I can do with it!
Yeah we did let him have it a lot yesterday. For the most part he shut us up. Reed is one heck of a player. That three he made right in front of us over Fitch (I think) was one heck of a shot. As for the cockiness, he backed up most of his cockiness on the floor. However there was one time he left his hand up after he shot it instead of fallowing his shot. He probably could have gotten the rebound but other than that he played lights out.

Whoa whoa whoa buddy. I wasn't accusing you of blaming me. You said he lived off people razzing him and I simply said then blame me for it. I never accused you of blaming me and was taking blame myself because I did harrass him a lot down there. You just took my comment in the wrong way, it's all good now though!
