Drama queen..attention whore...it's all good. I was particularly amused by the way he broached the topic but then didn't want to discuss it. What a tool. Why in the hell are MAC teams staying in hotels the night before home games? Seems like a huge waste of $$$

Especially when the game is not until 7pm. I could maybe see an 11am or noon kickoff.

Didn't (or doesn't) BG also stay in hotels for home games? I was pretty sure they did a few years ago anyway.

If I am not mistaken, yes, and they go up to Levis Commons to a hotel up there!

Unless you went to Findlay, he's not a fellow alum.

BG stayed in hotels the night before the game every game last year, including weeknight games. Last year the athletes did not have to attend classes on game days. I even think our men's basketball team stayed in hotels the night before a game. I guess only one solution now for the student athlete, schedule no class before noon. Personally I think staying in a hotel for home games is uncalled for. We are not here to babysit student athletes. If an athlete needs to be watched so they stay out of trouble and are tucked in bed at a decent time they will have much bigger problems down the road in life.

My response is this: The rule changed. I'm sure that the team will obey the NEW rule. It wasn't mandated before, now it is. I don't hear BG complaining about anything although it hasn't affected them yet. I'm sure that when it does, they will be ready to go no matter what.

So when BG goes down and play Western Kentucky in the middle of the week does it mean we need to attend classes. After all the game is being played in Bowling Green. Lol

HOW ABOUT WE JUST DON'T SCHEDULE ANY MID WEEK GAMES!!!!!! LET'S JUST PLAY THE GAMES ON SATURDAY LIKE WE ALWAYS USED TO DO!!!!!

I AM SURE IT TAKES A BIG CHUNK OUT OF THE BUDGET PAYING FOR 60 ROOMS, THAT'S ASSUMING WE PUT TWO PLAYERS PER ROOM, PLUS DINNER, BREAKFAST AND LUNCH. YOU DO THE MATH, CANNOT BE CHEAP.

Only seen one or two comments that supported the "no classes on game day" idea. One poster mentioned that a visiting team also stays ina hotel the night before but can spend the entire morning resting, preparing, etc. Still pretty silly- most teams are lucky to EVER get a night at a hotel. When I ran track we drove our own cars to away meets and returned the same day. Congrats to the ADs as far as I'm concerned. I'm assuming Christopher was on board, again demonstrating his superb leadership down there at BG. For anyone whining, well- it IS college and you ARE supposed to attend classes.

That a huge operating expense and enitirely unnecessary for a late game.
