Haven't seen the new building yet, obviously, but how could someone "fall" off the 4th floor? Do they have balconies?

The Blade says he/she fell out of the window....
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Tragic- is this a new dorm? Most new buildings don't even let you open windows what with all the delicate temp controls. Hope he/she makes it through this OK.

Nicholas lives in Centennial. He called last night....... ummmm how to I say this delicately and with some level of sensitivity. This wasn't an accident as much as an attempt to inflict injury to one's self.

That was unfortunately my first thought when I read the alert BG email... I was hoping I was wrong. I hope he is ok and gets some help.

Sounds like an effective means to that end. Briefly dated a girl who survived a seven story fall. She was a mess physically-rods and pins all over. Any word on the students condition?

As of last night...no. At least not on any of the sites I follow. I suspected something was up about the incident when I read that witnesses saw something wrapped around his neck. He might have jumped trying to hang himself. On it's own a four story drop probably wouldn't do the job....and there's much taller stuff to jump off of or out of on campus

I had siblings that went to OSU and lived in the towers over by the horseshoe....just about every qtr some poor soul would take a header off of that thing...how'd you like to be the first repsonder to that?

They are doing a study looking into the safety of the windows in the dorms. They declared them safe, but they are still looking into it. I would hate it if they decide that the windows need to be permanently latched. People will just fine some other way to harm themselves. Leave the windows alone.
