This Miami game is going to show us a lot. I am very anxious to see how we respond. With the one-point loss to Wyoming, BG is now 3-9 in games decided by one score under Clawson, including a 1-6 mark dating back to our bowl loss to Idaho in games decided by three points or less. We simply must start learning how to win and start winning games we are close in. Because right now, we are simply good at falling short. Sadly, many of us are coming to expect it and until our players start reversing it, they have it in their minds as well.
This game didn't feel like any of the close games we lost last year. Thse were games we were out of and fought back to almost win against teams that were better than us. We're a better football team than Wyoming. We have more talent and should have won that game by 2-3 scores. That's what was so frustrating...this wasn't us blowing a late lead like Buffalo in 2008, or almst beating Temple last year...this was us controlling large segments of the game and then f**king up before we had a chance to cash in....the entire game was us beating these guys and then handing the game back to them.....AAAAAAUUUUUUGGGHHH.
Any way...one thing I took from this game is that we have a team that has the weapons to score very quickly. Strong arm QB who's typically accurate, WR's that can get open downfield TE's that can work a deep seam, RB's who can take a sreen and go... unless we're losing by 40, we shouldn't ever feel like we're truly out of a game...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I felt the same way, Flip. BG was better than Wyoming and they knew it for most the game in spite of the turnovers. Had BG scored both times they turned the ball over in the redzone in the first half, it would've been a rout. That's what was so frustrating about Saturday's game.

I'm with both you guys, watching that game last week I never thought that Wyoming was the better football team, and every time they scored, especially in the second half I would think to myself well we should still be up by this much and well the score would be this if it wasn't for turnovers and shooting ourselves in the foot in the redzone. These aren't things I thought last season during games when we clearly weren't the better team
