Michigan Tech AD Suzanne Sanregret told Tech beat writer Stephen Anderson that Bowling Green has been given a flexible deadline to decide on the WCHA invite, perhaps another week.
Perhaps BG is trying buy time to gather other schools (Alabama-huntsville) and the four out east to create an acceptable league to play in with two divisions within the league. If this statement is true about given more time, its tells me that they are more then likely lobbying with others teams being brought it. Which is a good thing. The WCHA could say DEADLINE IS FRIDAY - DECIDE. Nope that didn't happen, if the above is true, this tells me talks are still going on and this is a good thing. Other schools are more then likely in the discussion along with BG and the WCHA, your guess is as good as mine which schools.
Several of the teams in the CCHA were only D1 in hockey, many D1 hockey programs thats there only D1 sport. I don't see that as a negative. It's their schools big ticket, they travel and go to their games and thats a good thing.
Yes, we are in a crappy spot and we haven't been put in a great position in the past by the higher ups within the university. Seriously, be part of the solution or shut-up. Become a Falcon Club member, go to the games, buy season tickets, buy 50-50 tickets, attend fundraisers, be part of a committee to raise money for the program, sitting on a message board bitching about the AD or past presidents or not winning in so many years isn't solving anything. We ALL want Falcon Hockey to be what it once was, it didn't get like this over night and it aint getting fix over night. HELP FIX THE PROBLEM. If you don't live in BG, donate money buy tickets and donate them, volunteer a group you coach to do something around the arena or parking lot. Those of us that have been around the program and sat in these seats during the so called 'glory years' remember, but I think with positive think and positive people getting things done it will eventually come back. Yes, I did say it will come back, not this or maybe the next, but with persistant people to make it happen it will. I yearn for those days and continually sit in my sit supporting the program year after year because that's what I CAN DO. I do what I can do, if you did what you could do you might be surprised what takes place. I support Coach Bergeron and believe he has the program going in a positive direction and has the knowhow to get us where we all want to be. He has been to the Frozen FOUR before as a coach and I believe he can get us back. I would think he would have the best intestest of the program based on having to talk to recruits and parents and dealing with questions that I'm sure arise within those conversations. If you have ever have talked to Coach Bergeron you take to things way integrity and passion. This man loves what he does and I will bet on it he succeeds here. I'm looking forward to that. I'll have my tickets, Will YOU?
BE POSITIVE, HAVE A LITTLE FAITH IN THE PEOPLE IN THE POSITIION TO MAKE THESE DECISIONS AND SUPPORT YOUR FALCON HOCKEY TEAM.
