Hello Falcons
Re: Hello Falcons
@Reyray... thanks! I'm going to check out the replay of your last game. Looking forward to it!
You had that many turnovers and you still only lost by a blocked PAT? That's actually impressive and heart-breaking at the same time.
Wasn't aware this is a replacement game from OSU. Let's hope this isn't one of those freaky things that leads to you pulling off the upset! lol! How weird would that be? Now I'm getting really concerned. This is the game that was "never supposed to happen". The LSU Letdown. BG's offense is clicking. Something doesn't feel right. Ugh.

Re: Hello Falcons
Welcome to the board,wvu1811....
The OSU thing is odd, but in 2004 we decided the participants in the BCS Title game. We were supposed to open the season at Auburn, but dropped them to play Oklahoma. Auburn found some lesser team to whomp on...OU beat us, but not by a lot. Anyway..we were a top 25 team towards the end of the year and playing us upped OU's strength of schedule. Auburn's replacement wasn't as strong and that was the deciding factor in OU going ahead of Auburn.
We also used to run an offensive fromation named after a rodent living in or near a hole in the ground containing sewage treatment plant overflow...but that story isn't as muh fun...

It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Well, I think I figured it out then. You will once again determine the BCS Title game. You'll only have two losses by the end of the season, one of them being us of course. Then, every other team in the country will lose at least 3 games (including LSU). Then... when all the dust settles.... a one-loss WVU team gets chosen for the title game over a 3-loss SEC team simply because YOUR game gave us the strength of schedule edge. OK... I feel better now.

Oh man, that is some serious delusional thought processing right there...the thought that you guys will be given the edge as a 1-loss team over a 3-loss SEC team. That is nuts!

Re: Hello Falcons
I can think of another "wasn't supposed to happen" game that BGSU was victorious in, because I was there. Our 43-42 win @ Northwestern on Nov. 17, 2001 was a replacement game after 9/11. Then we came home the following week and throttled Team Up North 56-21. I'd like to see that kind of score for this year's game as well.
Re: Hello Falcons
It was my freshmen year of college. I remember driving from my parents home to come back up for this game (getting locked out of the dorms for a few days sucked), and we had such a blast at that game and getting at the goalposts after. Chester Taylor was a virtual no show that day, and BG rolled. Aside of the ESPN College Gameday atmosphere, it was my favorite memorable BG football experience.camkru9701 wrote:Then we came home the following week and throttled Team Up North 56-21. Yeah, that was my senior year. We got back from the Northwestern game and still all I heard was how BG was lucky and there was no way Team Up North was going to let that happen to them. My favorite play of that game was when BG kicked off near the sideline, and instead of letting the ball go out of bounds, their player caught it and then got smoked and fumbled the ball. BG recovered for another quick score.truth wrote: Chester Taylor was a virtual no show that day, and BG rolled. Mrs Freak and I drove to the NW game in 2001...we originally had tix to the BG-South Carolina game and were gonna fly to Myrtle Beach for a few days and drive up to Columbia. 9/11 cancelled those plans and we got a refund for the SC tix and bought tix for the NW game. One of my all time fave BG games...and then crushing tsun the next week was the icing on the cake.

I still have my tickets from that SC game in my desk drawer!

Ummm, Wyoming is not good, really pretty bad actually. But dont let that dampen your college football prowess, WV will kill us. Say, 42-17 kind of whipping. I love the Gauley river by the way, totally awesome rafting experience.wvu1811 wrote:WVU fan here. Just wanted to stop by and say "hi".
I must admit, I haven't had a chance to catch any of your games yet this year, but it's no secret you have a pretty good offense as I've seen Schilz's name at the top of a lot of passing lists nationally. Your only loss has been to a pretty good Wyoming team on a blocked extra point, which by the way, had to have been a complete heart-breaker!!! But, seems you rebounded pretty well against Miami. I'm not sure if the WVU team is going to be suffering from this LSU-Hangover like us fans are, but I sure hope they get things together and have a good week of preparation because I think they'll really need it. You are definitely capable of making a game of it come Saturday, and obviously I hope you don't.
So anyway, what's the deal with your offense? Is it one of those no-huddle, up-tempo, spread attacks? Or, something completely different? What about your running game and your defense? Any insight on what I should expect to see come Saturday?
Thanks!

Have two friends that got the WVU who are both from Bowling Green.[quote]
Sorry to hear that , Lowry but I'm pretty sure a little penicillin will take care of that. Tell them to use some protection next time.

You know I have to like any team that Marshall hates, so while I'm hoping the falcons come to play, I can't dislike WVU.

Transfer- what's your price for one of those BG at South Carolina tickets? Would make a pretty cool and unique conversation piece in my office here in SC!
