If you and GMartin are ok with how the day is going, then so be it. But I come to expect more from a BG team .
I fully support the team and coaches, but doesn't mean I nor anybody else can't comment on how they perform.
Well you would never guess you support the team with 90% of your other posts. But that is just my opinion.
Sometime you have to look in the mirror and be honest with what you see.
Try it sometime.
What comments are you speaking about, the players getting arrested or what? Care to expound?

It's an open forum, so comment away. You just seem to put more importance on the role of today's game relating to the rest of the season than the previous four.
Not sure what's unacceptable about they way they are playing. Sometimes you go against better teams. The effort has been there for most of the game, but the talent isn't.
I think everyone should take the night off and step away from the computer. We got our butts kicked, no sugar-coating it. The personal attacks are just ridiculous though.
We got beat by a more talented team. Time to learn from it and gear up for the real season. We're 1-0 in MAC play, and need to take it one game at a time.

Guys relax. We played a legit top 25 team in west Virginia today. We won 2 games last year. We are nowhere near this level , why even try to make judgements on how we played. Let's move on to Mac play. West va is so far out of our league right now.

Yep, good points. We took our lumps. Now on to the games that really count. Go Falcons!

Well, not really. Grant is the creator, owner, operator and webmaster extraodinaire and has shut this forum down when people start attacking each other, SO KNOCK IT OFF!!! Like BGDrew said, just step back and take a breath. It's NOT the end of the world....really! Next week's game is much more important!!!
GO FALCONS!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

Seriously, this.
I know after our great start to the season, people had a lot of big hopes for today. WVU is legit top 20 even after the loss last week. Our team is 75% Freshman and Sophomores; we're young. This was a game we weren't supposed to win. I know, I would have loved for us to pull the upset or even to lose with a closer margin. All we can do is learn from our mistakes, improve our team and move on to next week's game. We're still 1-0 in the MAC and Temple lost today. As far as the MAC Championship is concerned we're still in a great position.
6500 miles couldn't stop me from cheering on my Falcons!
One the one hand you can look at today and chalk it up to playing a far better team...you can point to the fact that Schilz hasn't had a full season healthy under center yet...you can point to the fact that this was his first exposure to a really good team.
On the other hand...you shouldn't let a gap in talent create a gap in smarts. No matter how much better the other guys are you have to play the game the right way. I'm not questioning the level of effort...I'm questioning the ability to stay focused mentally...to understand where you are and what your assignment is. Getting trucked by 30 isnt an excuse to go out and run around and turn it into a 45 point loss. We have to learn to handle adversity....a lot is riding on these next three weeks. Are you gooing to pull it together and show that we have a team on the rise or fall apart and say 'we're kids...wait till next year?"
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

That's a fair point. But Grant seems to keep things very open around here, to his credit.
FWIW, I was coming from the exact same point of view you espoused regarding the important part of the season lying ahead. I'm not even sure how important next week's game is, given the way the East is shaping up right now.
If my posts are re-read, I don't think it could be said that I was attacking anyone. Scarcasm in a couple, sure. But I was noting what I thought were posts that were hyper-critical of the team.

Flip, you made a great post here, but I think this last portion is the critical point.
We're a young team, so it's not so much that we lost and played poorly, it's how we respond.
I think we're going to learn a lot about the direction of the team - and the program - by the time we get to Halloween.

Wow, I just looked at the final score, and I read the recap on ESPN.com. So glad I missed that game. It sounds like we had butter fingers all day, and it was a sloppy game on both sides of the ball. Pretty cool that we lead early on. I figured we would lose this game, but I didn't think it would be an embarrassment like it turned out to be.
This is a tough game for a young team to get over quickly. The coaching staff will earn its keep this week getting the young team's collective psyche ready for WMU and Carder. I think we are as good as any MAC team or at least near enough to win any of our remaining games. However, we have to execute better than we did today. Today we lost to a much better team and we added to that with 5 turnovers.

They got over it after the Wyoming game. They will be ready for WMU.
