Detroitfalcon's right...we should have done whatever it took to be in the NCHC...they don't want us? We'll see how long they stick to that stance when we hire the Yakuza to "change their minds"... :)

I don't see what people wanted us to do TODAY other than join the WCHA or try to maintain the CCHA. Yeah...build a time machine and go back 15-20 years and not have 15 years of losing seasons.... that would help. Go back to the late 80's and force the University to pledge to never, ever let the Ice Arena become an outmoded shithole...yes that would have helped. But, unless you have a time machine I really don't know what you want the people who are here NOW to do other thasn what they did

Please...explain how things could have been different today

Personally, I like the "time machine" idea.
I think I saw something out by the dumpster on the old tennis courts that looks alot like a "flux capacitor". Since we're fresh out of DeLoreans, perhaps we could install it into the backup zamboni...but then we'd never be able to get that up to 88mph.

IPCO 102 (then IPC 102, and now COMM 1020) was the course and most (not the old farts like Flipper, Falcon Fanatic, Tech83, and some others) of these people graduated long after IPCO 102 was a requirement for all university students (along with having to complete two PEG classes).

You are right about the course number. IPCO 102.

Obviously we can't change where we are right this moment. This is a bad thing that has happened over some time. I suggest that we focus on taking steps to make sure the program's demise doesn't continue. Maybe we should consider some serious and practical ideas, instead of fun references to the foreign occupiers of Marysville or outdated movies. If you care enough to read this board, please consider joining the Falcon Club and/or buying hockey tickets. Thanks.

We ARE taking steps to insure the future of the program. That is the reason for the "Bring Back the Glory" campaign. That is why they hired Chris Bergeron. And I agree, everyone who is a hockey fan should join the Falcon Club, but they also need to remember to designate the money for hockey!!! Buy season tickets or just go to as many games as you can!! Bring friends!!!

GO FALCON HOCKEY!!!

You haven't been paying attention enough to realize that if we didn't take this bid, we would have been independent or terminated sooner.

Read the news, don't assume it.

Please re-read the post. It was clear and written at a level that most BG grads should be able to comprehend. that too little to late? Apparently our ex-peers in the NCHC think so!
Let's talk about reading comprehension.

1)NCHC didn't want us and that was made perfectly clear. WMU carries better TV revenue and the state of Michigan recruiting. BG literally offers nothing to the NCHC other than a history of a 20 year old slide [not to be blamed on CG.]

2) THE ONLY OFFER ON THE TABLE WAS THE WCHA.

3) Christopher tried to keep the CCHA together giving us the opportunity to win right away and get to the NCAA's. It was a prudent move, but there were no takers. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

4) THE ONLY OFFER ON THE TABLE WAS WCHA.

If we don't take the offer on the table then suddenly we have a conference [CCHA] of ONE TEAM: BGSU. Um, that's independent by any and all accounts.

It's simple logic and that simple logic tells me that you're being an idiot.

Thank you for proving me more able to handle the English language than you. Stick around and learn a little bit before you begin casting your idiotic aspersions around like you're somehow better informed then other people on this board.

We don't join the WCHA for two years. A lot can happen between now and then. The realignment isn't over yet. I don't care who has announced what, nothing is official until the puck drops.

Exactly, who would have thought a year ago at this time Western Michigan would be admitted to (or even rumored to go to) a "Super Friends" conference as the NCHC has been called around here. Plenty can change in two years in this game known as realignment

I hope you feel good about yourself now. You seem to be one of those message board tough guys who have everything figured out. I guess there is no limit to your self-professed powers of logical analysis. Good luck in life. You will need it, because typing in all caps and throwing around oversimplified, repetitive posts on this board will not impress as many people as you think it will.

Moving on, I would like to think that can improve our conference situation before realignment is final, but I just don’t see it happening. There is no significant outcry and no recognized effort to do anything about it. Too bad, because it would be nice to move back a conference where we are not the only D1 vote at the table.

I do very well for myself, thank you.

I took the liberty [and some pain] to re-read your nine posts here on AZZ.com. You may want to take your own advice. [Emphasis mine.]

Take care, pookie.

Exactly! And Miami without Bergeron, is not going to be the same. Blasi knows what a GREAT coach/Recruiter Bergeron is. Not surprised Bergeron didn't get a call from his buddy about the formation of the new "super friends" conference. Blasi doesn't want Bergeron in his new conference because he knows it's only a matter of time before Bergeron's current team is kicking his former team's butt on a regular basis! :-D
