Falcons win!! 2-1 over UCONN.

ALOT of things I liked about tonight...still a few things to work on. Last year, we would have crumbled in the 3rd period, we didn't crumble tonight. I like the way the boys are standing people up at the blue line, and taking away the passing lanes. Here's a stat for you...15 of the 20 that were dressed tonight were freshmen or sophomores. Congrat's to Ryan Carpenter on getting his first collegiate goal, he also had an assist. Hammy was solid in net...UCONN's goalie is pretty darn good too! We outshot them 39-21. Bryce Williamson scored the other goal...both our goals came on the power play. Power play is still not where it should be, but it is getting better. A work in progress. Also, too many penalties...especially in the 2nd and 3rd period. Penalty kill was outstanding!! We even killed a 5-3. BG had 10 penalties, UCONN had 8. Attendance was 1,316. Of course, the students are on Fall break. Tomorrow night is BG Community night...let's get alot of BG residents out to the game!

It was a damn fun game to watch! Got really scary in the final minutes of the third with those ricochets off Hammy right in front of the goal. Major kudos to Grover for diving on the ground and literally pushing the puck behind the net!

Agree on the too many penalties... there were a lot of questionable calls vs. no calls on both sides, but that's how it goes.

Great game overall by the team and I'm really excited for the rest of the season!

Great to see everyone and meet some more people and put faces to "board names."

We looked pretty solid out there. I agree with several of the posts and it was nice to see a pretty strong third period. I was watching the game online here in Doha, when the screen froze with about 2 minutes left , but it was nice to see that we got the win.

Great win for these guys. Hopefully we can draw more community support, it would also be nice to have the students back from Fall break to support the team.

Also, first time a freshman has scored a goal in the first game of the season since 2005-06!!
