Announced on Columbus Day, ironically.

Maybe they should create the "Firewater Bad" trophy instead.

As poorly as BG has performed the past couple weeks and everyone gets worked up over a trophy that hardly anyone knew existed?

That "hardly anyone" hasn't been paying attention.

The University of North Dakota doesn't cave in to pressure and change their name. Go Sioux.

I was just looking at my profile picture last week and thought that the trophy needed a new look. Neither school uses the current logo that is on the Peace Pipe. Not crazy about the name of the new trophy though.

Couldn't care less. I want BG to beat Toledo whether or not a trophy is involved.

Nothing like a good trophy controversy to help build up apathy for the big game. I guess this is the best we can do this year.

My two comments- 1. BATTLE OF I-75- c'mon the interstate stretches from Michigan to Florida and we are "battling" over a very small portion of that road. Why not BATTLE OF NORTHWEST OHIO?

2. The Peace Pipe Trophy will be housed in the University of Toledo trophy case because they most recently won the trophy. I think the trophy should be housed in the schools' trophy case that held the advantage in the PP series not based on who won it last.
1. Couldn't they come up with something creative relating to NW Ohio:
"The Mad Anthony Trophy"
"Floyd of Rossford"
"The Walleye Pole"
"Black Swamp Trophy"

Pick something a little creative. "Battle for Asphalt" doesn't do it.

2. If a trophy is being retired, it seems the right thing to do would be to commission a replica. Then both schools could house the trophy in their archive. . .
