Might as well gather around the Jambulance Saturday morning and sing Kumbaya.
FYI, I plan on bringing some BGSU logoed (old logo) golf putters (right handed) and some BGSU chairs on Saturday to sell. Left over merchandise from when I had the Rocket Store and wanted to start the Falcon Store. They will be marked to sell so stock up for Christmas.
This might be sacrilege for some, but I'm going to say it anyway.
From the time I arrived in BG I never really bought into the whole BG vs UT rivalry. Often times teams have bigger reasons than geography to be rivals with another school, but it doesn't seem like we have that, we're just supposed to hate one another because we're really close by. Further, it just seems odd to me that our biggest rival isn't even in our division of the conference, which means that this game rarely has much bearing on the MAC Championship race, especially now that the game isn't the last game of the season.
I dunno, I always considered Miami a bigger rival to BG, in more recent times maybe Ohio too, because those games usually matter a lot on the road to Detroit, whereas Toledo does not.

I'm with 24, I think Miami is a bigger rival for us than Toledo. Same division, epic games when Roethlisberger was there and of course the Miami Whammy.
I would tend to agree that Miami and maybe even OU are better rivalries as we are all much more alike. Scuds are only important because they are close and it is nice to have bragging rights because we all run into each other at work etc.
Hell.....lets win em all and not worry about it!
I grew up and still live in Toledo, but once I arrived on campus (BGSU) as a student in 1997 I quickly realized that Miami was the game that everyone cares about. The media doesn't help the UT rivalry. I bitch about it every year (although I haven't yet this year). If they gave our game even half the attention that they give OSU/UM, I think this rivalry could become something again. At the very least, people would know that it's taking place. Our local media in NW Ohio blows. There is no excuse for not selling this game out every single year, provided that it is played on a Saturday in October like this year. I hope they keep it as a mid-season game for future seasons as well.
The rivalry would matter more if there was more local media (TV) coverage of the two programs. I hate Toledo when BG plays them. I always hate Miami and OU.
I must be in the minority. I despise everything about tsun at all times. Yes, I hate Miami but I guess since they lead us by such a wide margin in football (and men's hoops for that matter), it isn't as intense for me. And Ohio U never really bothered me that much. I want to beat them but don't hate them.
As far as the NW Ohio media, they do a lame job covering this game.
