BG battles Akron to a scoreless tie for the first half but..

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Zips score 3 goals in the second to win 3-0. Akron was a step faster all night but it's evident BG is steadily improving under Coach Nichols. Akron wins the MAC title for the 7th straight year. BG falls to 7-5-3, 1-2-1 in the MAC and will host NIU this Sat night at 7 for Senior Night.

Thanks to Vdub26Falcon and his lady, Amanda, for the tix to the match. The rain held off just long enough until the end of play. Freakling2 and I looked in on InfoCision Stadium on the way back to the car...that place is impressive.

Mens soccer lost again yesterday to WMU ending their season. They finished 6th out of 7 teams in the MAC with a 1-4-1 record.

Another great performance by BGSU Athletics.....

Not surprised to see you left out that the team's overall winning percentage of .472 (overall record of 7-8-3) is the teams best since the 90s (athletic website has all the schedules and records since 2000 listed, this years was the best of that group). If the team doesn't improve on that next year I may see your point, but take a look at those other year's schedules like I just did, we seem far away from the years of winning percentages in the .200's. The team has improved every year under Coach Nichols, look at the results (he got here in 2009) and you'll see it.
