The QB isn't holding this team back on his own....our difficulties inside the red zone are due in large part to the OL. Granted...Schilz needs to take the yards with his feet when they're there, but the OL has given up red zone sacks and they've demonstrated an inability to hulk up and give the RB's the push they need to get a yard on numerous occasions. We haven't been stuffed on 3rd and 4th and short with just the wildcat...it's been an issue with Schilz and Samuel running as well as Hopgood.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Agree a ton with this...we've also had some success running outside the tackles in some situations, I think the offensive line has demonstrated this year they can't get a good enough push to run dive and gut plays.Flipper wrote:The QB isn't holding this team back on his own....our difficulties inside the red zone are due in large part to the OL. The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

What upsets me more than anything in the RZ is that we have two really capable tight ends (Bayer and Beck) and we rarely if ever call a play action to them from inside the 10. If executed properly, this is more oft than not a sure TD in the college game.
