Hopgood could be done for the year...

Listening to Coach Clawson's presser for the NIU game, he said Hopgood has been bothered by a knee injruy and may not play the rest of the yr.

That sucks...Jordan's a very important part of the offense and can spell Anthon when he's tired. Does this mean the wildcat will be abandoned finally?
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

Couldn't Hurley run the wildcat? He would then give us a pass threat out of it.

And BTW - Did you see the rookie Temple QB get his first TD pass on a play action to the full back near the OU goal line last night? I will always believe the play action to either a FB or a TE from near the 5 is the more successful play in college.

My thought exactly. Hurley looks to be a much better runner than Schilz, and as you said, would give the threat - and hopefully an option to pass- in that formation.

Not good news at all about Hopgood. Damn

As long as we're talking about RB's, what has happened to John Pettegrew? Does he even get into games as a special teamer? He's a Jr. now, and I thought, even though he came from a very small HS, his credentials were solid...I can't recall seeing him on the field this year, though I obviously could've missed special teams players. It would seem to me that he'd be an ideal backup at the very worst for our RB tandem. :-k

I still can't fathom how Jason Rice never amounted to anything at the RB spot. He looked unstoppable those couple games he played before he got hurt.

Speaking of Jason Rice.....

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
