Free Pizza?

Post by jpfalcon09 »

Is it just me or does anyone else find it mildly embarrassing that we have to entice our students to go to a weeknight football game by offering free pizza to them?

For those of you who aren't familiar with that I'm talking about...

They've got to do whatever it takes to get fans to the game tomorrow. After seeing Toledo (best record in the MAC) and their attendance last week vs. NIU, I don't blame the Athletic Department for doing some kind of gimmick. It sucks, but the entire conference is in the same position, it's not just BG.

I think it's pretty damn cool myself. College students respond to free things. Always have, always will. We won't get a townie crowd on a Tuesday night so you got to do something to get the students in.

Sh**, I would have pushed my grandma down and stomped on her colostomy bag if it meant I had a shot at free pizza when I went to BG. Free pizza, football and a smelly shoe...pretty damn worth it if you ask me.

Yeah, I don't see why giving free pizza to college kids is embarrassing. Pretty cool.

I think it's a great idea!!!! Good for them for doing something for the students!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I could see the students running out to the Doyt for the free pizza :smt118 & when full, staggering back to the dorm or a bar to watch the game on TV. :drinkers:

Maybe not . . . since the weather forecast is decent??

I might be wrong on this, but I thought I heard that the college kids were getting free pizza, pop and a T shirt next week.... Rumor has it that if we had any more weeknite home games...free tuition would be offered to all! =D>
