Not surprised. It's basketball in the SEC, during Football season. FL couldn't even get good crowds during Football season after they won their 2 NCs. UK is the only team that regularly sells out for basketball.

Scott Thomas playing very solid, we just need some shots to go down.
Go Falcons
Re: BG v Ga On TV tonight in CBus
It seems this entire comeback has been made with Jordon Crawford on the bench. Interesting.
Re: BG v Ga On TV tonight in CBus
Defense GREAT. Rebounding GREAT. Limited Turnovers. Ball movement in offense so-so. Shooting the ball from the field and the line TERRIBLE. If we can make our shots we will be in every game.

A.C. has not been impressive yet this year. We need to get him going.

Last 3 minutes of the game. Kraus 0-3, 2 fouls, 1 turnover

I thought this was a very very encouraging game and think Sealey will be starting soon or seeing starters minutes thought there was a lot of good that came out of this.

+1,000. It was frustrating knowing we had a chance to win this game and just couldn't get some shots to fall. Coach Orr....WORK ON FT SHOOTING. We left points on the floor by not hitting foul shots. Loved seeing the Falcons on the U and the announcers were very complimentary toward BG.gmartin wrote:Defense GREAT. Rebounding GREAT. Limited Turnovers. Ball movement in offense so-so. Gonna be a fun year at the Stroh...GO FALCONS!

I sure hope so. Sealy on the bench in favor of Krauss is a travesty I'm sorry, its the truth. Krauss maybe a great hustle player but contributes next to nothing offensively and we need offense plain and simple. Krauss may start for Findlay but he's not a Div. 1 player. He's not even consistent enough from the beyond the arc which is his best ability. Every game he plays in he's gonna be in a mismatch with someone bigger , stronger and more athletic. Every time Sealy has gotten time he's gotten better and can't believe Orr hasn't a clue yet as to who his best players are.60yearsofsicsic wrote:I thought this was a very very encouraging game and think Sealey will be starting soon or seeing starters minutes thought there was a lot of good that came out of this.

Sealey is off to a great start this year and Orr mentioned that he was impressed with Sealey's work in the pre-season. FWIW, he fouled out of the game and had a turnover down five with 2 minutes left. I'm not sure what to make of Kraus, but I'm sure not willing to give up on him.

Kraus definitely sees more time than he should but he is a great hustle player and provides energy that boosts the team around him. I would bet that one of Clark or Henderson gradually takes his offensive minutes. Kraus's playing time has almost no effect on Sealy because one plays almost all in the post and the other plays outside. Our C only saw 25 minutes tonight.
Calhoun has been the big disappointment. He should be dominating and I imagine will be. Great rebounding effort tonight from him though while not scoring a ton. Glad he did not lose his desire. Put up 11 rebounds while struggling to score.
Overall thoughts. Great rebounding effort, glad we stayed in the game but our offense sucks. I like our lineup though. Thomas, Calhoun and Crawford are the only must starts in my mind. I would like to see Craw get more minutes, he is a great player and we have no other good point guard. I don't remember them posting him up too badly although I suspect his length would be a problem against an SEC team. Sealey is great to see. He really has a ridiculously high ceiling and could be a stud. Brown is a nice scorer and I think will be an ideal Guard off the bench who can score in bunches when he is hot. Black did not do much for me tonight but he is atleast a capable big body. He seems to have a big upside though.

Watched most of the game last night. Offensive struggles, both teams had them. Overall I like where the team seems headed. We looked like we could've won that game last night but shot ourselves in the foot early and at the very end there. I am optimistic based off of what I saw this evening. Planning to make it up to the Stroh a few weekends this season.

Calhoun was in early foul trouble in the Howard game and the other 3 big guys were playing very well and coach saw no need to make a change.gmartin wrote:A.C. has not been impressive yet this year. We need to get him going.
In the UGA game, their bigs were bigger, longer and more athletic than ours. We weren't going to score one-on-one against them inside, though I would have still liked to see us go inside and try to get to the foul line. Really happy with the way we hit the boards though.
I'm not at all worried about Calhoun. He'll get his points. Once we get some of our other scorers going, too, things should really open up for him
LONG LIVE THE MONGOOSE!!
