That's just it! It IS drastically overrated because so many people talk about it as if it is this great beer. I agree 100% that it is much better than Bud/Miller/Coors, and it is priced to compete with those macro lagers. Anyway I'm not beer snob, just a beer lover. Can't wait for someone to mention "finish" or "mouth feel" or "notes' now.

Yeah, not old enough to remember the Coors phenomenon, but from what I've heard it's eerily similar. I'm with ya though. I can see myself drinking a lot more Yeungling so long as it remains at the same price as Bud/Coors. It IS better than them. It's the same thing with wine - I hear folks going on and on about certain wines, then I see they are $20 or $30 a bottle. Well, yeah, sure they SHOULD be great. But Mrs. 87 & I discovered two really good riojas for less than $10 a bottle.
On our budget, Yeungling and a Faustino VI rioja fit nicely!
It's a shame that folks have over-hyped Yeungling, but I recall the same thing happening when Coors came to Ohio. After all that hype, I tasted one and thought, "what's all the fuss about?"

Personally my fave brew is Red Stripe from Jamaica...mon.
