Kudos to Gregg Brandon and Wyoming

Post by MarkL »

Wyoming is currently 7-4 after losing to Boise State today. They're 4-2 in the Mountain West, have good shot at finishing third in the conference, and that was all with being picked at the bottom. Offense has been pretty good all season long, and that's been with a true freshman QB. That offense has been good this year, considering there's a true freshman QB, a new OC, and a team that's been pretty low in the MWC recently, and should be excellent this year. Kudos to Brandon, and best of luck in the season finale vs Colorado State, a hopeful bowl game, and future seasons.

Pulling off that win sure would have been nice. They're an all around good team, way better than we all thought in week three. Wyoming's probably been the surprise team in the MWC.

Wyoming has had a good year and will roll over CSU in their finale. Interesting to see how we fared against bowl teams- we played, likely, six. Wyoming, WVU, Temple, UT, NIU and Ohio. Of course, WMU is also eligible.

We completely outplayed Wyoming head to head with horrible mistakes turning a three TD win into a one point loss. WVU beat us easily and was the much better team. We beat Temple in a close one and outplayed them for all four quarters. We lost a hard fought game with UT where they made the second half plays necessary to win in deserving fashion. But it was a game we could have won. NIU was far better than us that night- Harnish was just better than our defense etc. And Ohio? Never should have lost that game.

Many of these games, came down to literally, one or two plays or opportunities.

Amazing how close we were to that 8-4 mark.

Didn't play a lick at Kent in the entire game and at WMU in the second half.

Hopefully that last sentence doesn't happen next year, we make the two or three plays and win the East in 2012. Could easily happen.

Go Falcons!

I wonder if Brandon will end up in some capacity under Meyer at OSU? I think that would be a good fit for him.

I think that woud depend on what GB' s goals are. He grew up in the MWC region...he may want to see if a HC gig could be had out there before moving back to the midwest to be an assistant...assuming Meyer would have a suitable spot for him.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

I agree with Flip...GB is a mountain man and his wife Robyn loves that area as well. Congrats to GB...

FF1,
Absolutely agree with you. A handful of plays separates this team from 8-4 to 5-7. I talked to Coach Clawson after the Buffalo game and he mentioned the need and importance of making the play. With just about everyone back next year, anything less than a MAC East title and spot in the title game will be a major disappointment, IMo. Youth is no longer an excuse and we simply need to get over the hump. I, for one, am already pumped up for next yr.

GO FALCONS!!!
