BG vs WKU
i'm excited about tonights game and the fact that i have a front row seat right behind the team...what more could i ask for really? i know that some of you probably don't like me because i say what i want aobut anything, i really hope that you like me.............NOT! i don't care if you like or not! To the fans who sit on their ass the entire game...stand up and show some support for the players and coaches..... I believe it was at the Purdue game that Brandi Poole motioned for the fans to get up and yet like always most people sat on their ass and did nothing! i understand some people may not be able to stand for long periods of time but, to those who can get and make some noise....my dad is 62 years old and still stands and cheers the team on! Get off your ASS and make some noise!
There can be only ONE!

We all better stand or Dustin will write another letter to the editor in the Sentinel. Seriously though, Dustin give it a rest already.

Re: BG vs WKU
Maybe Curt struck a nerve with the ladies when he said "We're missing shots that we're capable of making" and explaining that the players need to be accountable for those shots... We'll show you, coach! BG came out on fire! It looked like they couldn't miss in the first half.
Jillian Halfhill had an exceptional first half, going 6-7 from the field and 4-4 on threes just in that half. Some of those points came from a really sweet traditional 3-point play, which was cool to me because we don't see her driving to the basket much. She looked more confident than I'd ever seen her, and that empowered her to finish her shots. Great to see her step up - she's taking over at point guard well.
A great win, and a start like that should give the team a shot of confidence! Go Falcons!

He didn't like the defensive effort from the frontcourt so he pulled all three of them 56 seconds into the game....Hoekstra was getting some second half minutes...she threw a lazy pass that immediately resuted in a turn over. He pulled her and put Pastor in.

Re: BG vs WKU
I'm sure anyone reading this has already been to the team's site and read the impressive statistics for some of the players. Even if shots made doesn't tell the whole story of everyone's contributions, I can say that it was very sweet to be able to watch the ball go though the hoop so many times for the Falcons.
For a long time I've thought that somehow Jessica is magic and able to be two places at once, such is her display of energy and ability to be right where she is needed, whether rebounding, or jumping three rows of chairs to make sure the ball doesn't go out on the Falcons. (I exaggerate only slightly.) It looks like Noelle may be following in her footsteps. At one point a WK player stole the ball and took it all the way down court with nary a Falcon in sight. The next time one of them tried that trick, Noelle was only steps behind her.
Keep your eyes on the Js: Jasmine, Jessica, Jill, and Jillian.

Re: BG vs WKU
It was easy to tell Noelle was disappointed with her efforts. She just looked so upset the last time she got pulled from the game. Her shots just weren't falling and then she got her pocket picked by a WK defender. But, as the WK player streaked down the court with Noelle's ball, Noelle was right on her - and STUFFED her. I'm pretty sure the WK player had about 8 inches on Noelle, but size doesn't matter when you have heart. Chin up, girl, we love your energy and effort, and you showed tonight that you'll never give up!

Re: BG vs WKU
If Brandi or any others of the coaching staff or any of the team encourage us to show some emotion, I am inclined to take her up on her offer. But young Master Dustin confuses one's observable behavior with the level of one's level of being a fan.DustinXtreme wrote: To the fans who sit on their ass the entire game...stand up and show some support for the players and coaches..... There are many ways people "prove" that they are fans. Some make signs and run back and forth along the court (or at least they did at Anderson) trying to get the crowd going. Others jump up and down and make a lot of welcome noise. Still others can quote statistics - both current and for the past 30 years for individual players or the team in general. Those who can afford it buy the more expensive seats, donate heavily to the team according to NCAA regulations, and /or participate in fund raising activities. Those with more time available attend away games both in state and out of state. Some listen to the game on the radio and yell just as much as some people at the event, even if the team can't hear them. Wearing orange and brown attire or Women's Basketball shirts to the game or around town may be another outward sign of support.
Forgive us, dear Dustin, if we don't all have the energy and mindset of a 14 year old, and please accept us as the fans we are. One's outward behavior at a game does not singularly define a fan.
"And remember," as Gil Eagles once said, "the more noise you make, the more fun you think you're having!!!"

No one should be made to prove their support, but it would be nice to see our fans cheer for our student athletes without encouragement from the assistant coaches. It's as if cheering is discouraged by others in attendance, like talking in a movie theater.
FWIW, Dustin spelled it correctly: Brandi, not Brandy.

You are never going to convince Dustin that he's wrong...it's a complete waste of time. Trying to do so will only elicit a series of "that's original...not" type responses and possibly links to WWE videos.
In the interest of fairness...He's right about one thing...people should react more and not wait until the coaches prompt them to cheer...
