I wasn't able to make it to the game, but I read the article on bgsufalcons.com and checked out the stats... and I'm loving Jasmine Matthews more than ever! Before halftime she keyed an 11-0 run... first hitting a jumper, and then assisting a bucket on the next 3 straight possessions. She had 5 points, 4 assists, and a steal for the night. And watching her play, it seems she's almost even better on defense. She hounds opposing guards and keeps her hands active, and she's good on help too. If she keeps improving her versatility on both ends of the floor, she's going to be a real threat to the other team.
I don't remember much hype about Jasmine when we recruited her, but I'm sure pleased with her effort. She's really proving she wants to be on the floor and has clearly earned her spot as first guard off the bench. To me, this is the best part of a "rebuilding" year - seeing young players come in and prove they belong. Go BG!
