I understand with the landscape of college football ever changing it has likely affected the MAC's announcement of what it is going to do with divisions, but as a fan of the conference, I am finding it very annoying that we're still waiting for an answer as to what is going to happen now that UMass has been added. When the MAC announced UMass was joining the conference for football, it sounded like a decision was going to be made within the next fews weeks as to what was going to happen. Now, months have passed, and still no word. What's more, I get the strong feeling that the reason nothing has been determined, or at least announced yet, is because of issues dealing with the football-only members Temple and UMass. I just get so fed up with the MAC when it appears it is often catering to please the newcomers to our conference, especially the ones who aren't even full-time members. What about our core members?! When is the MAC going to start taking care of its roots and not bend over backwards to please those who come in, wipe their feet on us, and leave. They aren’t fully committed to our conference. We're giving them a home, not the other way around. Has the MAC not learned from the UCF and Marshall experience in the recent past?
I'm not going to pretend to know more about this topic than I do, but I really wish the MAC would just grow a pair and making a proactive decision for once. Come up with a plan, make a decision, and go with it. If the MAC is worried or concerned about the Temple or UMass commitments, don’t be. Split them up from the start, putting one in each division, and roll with it. If they stay, we’re balanced with 14. If they both leave, we’re still balanced with 12. If one leaves and the other stays, we’d be at 13 and we’ve been at that for several years now already and have made it work. But make a decision already. Either they are on board, or they are not. Simple. But we have 12 core members who have been and appear committed, and for once, I would really, really, really like the MAC do what is best for the full-time members of this conference, and not twist everything around for a football-only member. Because honestly, in the grand scheme of things, we’re really no better off with or without either one of them IMO. What, they give us a few non-conference men’s basketball games ever year…great. We’re giving them a conference to call home, with a league to schedule into, with bowl tie-ins and an opportunity to play for a title and better exposure. I would just so much more respect the MAC if they took control and told these guys what they are going to do, instead of what appears is the other way around sometimes.
When is the MAC going to announce what is going on???
Re: When is the MAC going to announce what is going on???
I don't think they know what to do about the MAC. They probably wish we would go away. We have a good product, but with poor following across the board, we are not going to ever be in the major scheme of things.

I agree....tell Temple and Umass to beat it. They bring nothing to the MAC.

From what I understand, both schools are wealthy athletically. Both have decent facilities athletically.
BUT it is hard to get excited about playing league teams so far far away. At least I can drive to Kent, Miami, WMU, etc. if I want to see a game.

I would like to see the MAC back to a 12 team conference. 6 on each side....
33 brings up good points. Why is the MAC always catering to other schools and not looking out for our own? This BS line about "The MAC would tap the Philly and Boston markets" is a joke...nobody cares about Temple in Philly.
