If this woman thinks that the Stroh Center, because of a few security people, is the most awful place she has ever been, then I truly don't know what to say. I have had my purse checked at Michigan Stadium, Freedom Hall in Louisville, Quicken Loans Arena, Comerica Park and Progressive Field (just to name a few) and never thought twice about it.

I wanna see how this woman would react trying to get into a football game at Michigan State with her purse. When BG played football there in 2007 my friend wasn't allowed to bring her purse in because it was too big

God forbid the university try and run the building like a professional facility by not letting people bring outside items in. The athletic department sure must be dumb... I wonder if you can do all of the things that people are complaining about at Value City Arena or Crisler Arena? I mean those are Division 1 athletic buildings as well. Yes things have changed, deal with it.

As far as the signs being checked, they should have been checked in the past, but now that we have a Video Board and stream every home game on the internet I see no problem with censoring what is displayed at the games.

Some people are taking this as personal attacks at the Stroh Center but I'm willing to bet that none of those security guards know any of the people complaining personally and I would almost be willing to bet that they aren't going out of their way to inconvenience people in any way. They are probably just doing what they were TOLD and TRAINED to do... you know, following the protocols that have been established.

Seems to me like some people have just become accustomed to doing whatever they wanted for so long that now that they are actually being told no, they don't like it.

I wouldn't guarantee that it will be like this for awhile because i've heard it from more than one employee at the Stroh Center that the tin soliders are on their way out and sooner than we think! Signs shouldn't be checked! and if the University does keep the tin soldiers then don't expect more people to attend Basket Ball Games then! I might have season tickets but enough is enough! the tin soldiers have got to go! plus i heard that having the tin soldiers are costing the university more money than what they got!

Of course signs should be checked... it is a family environment therefore signs should be checked for things that could be seen as profane and also inappropriate. On top of that, the security is just doing their job. That is what they were directed to do whether they like it or not. They must follow the orders that are given to them. All of these complaints by the fans are starting to become comical. I would rather be safe than sorry. We really don't need a "Youtube" type moment to happen that would put a black eye on our university. There is finally a little structure and control over what happens at the venue and people aren't happy with it. Like I said before, this is a Division 1 institution and it is about time the administration as well as fans treat it that way.

Just read this letter and liked it very much. The young woman should be ashamed of herself for not cleaning up after her dog. That's disgusting.

i was going to go to a game! but the tin soldiers kept telling me i was supposed to stand up! they wouldn't let me sit in the seat that i paid for! if i did then i wasn't a true fan!
