Only, and I stress only when sufficiently inebriated. Times of my life I will NEVER forget - "trust me".transfer2BGSU wrote:I don't know if I can trust the words of someone that ran around the campus in a pair of coveralls and a Halloween mask handing out candy to children and plastering signs in the middle of the night across campus.SicSicalum wrote: Besides that, I have seen the kid play and he IS legit!! I still wish Omar would have given us one more season. I know he was losing some very good WR's, but I loved watching him pass the ball and run our offense.1987alum wrote:We lost two QBs once Omar established himself as the starter.

Looks like Hurley is going to have some MAC company at SEMO:
Transfer quarterbacks appear headed to SEMO
Posted Monday, December 19, 2011, at 10:18 AM
According to various internet reports, the SEMO football program will add two transfer quarterbacks from the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A). Trent Hurley and Kyle Snyder were both redshirt freshmen reserves at their respective Mid-American Conference schools this year
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Hurley, originally from the Pittsburgh area, completed 9 of 16 passes for 115 yards and rushed five times for 31 yards in four games at Bowling Green, which went 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the MAC.
The 6-1, 207-pound Snyder, originally from Barberton, Ohio, completed 5 of 8 passes for 38 yards and rushed 13 times for 80 yards in five games at Ohio, which went 9-4 overall and 6-2 in league play to win the MAC East Division championship.
Hurley was rated a three-star recruit by rivals.com coming out of high school while Snyder was rated a two-star recruit. They figure to be on hand for spring practice and look like nice additions for the Redhawks as they seek a replacement for record-setting quarterback Matt Scheible.

You would have to think that defeats the purpose of the transfer for one of them.BGSU33 wrote:Looks like Hurley is going to have some MAC company at SEMO:

How could a three star bomb so badly at BG? I think Omar was a three star coming out of Fla when he came here.

I wouldn't say he bombed, just got stuck behind someone.zete wrote:How could a three star bomb so badly at BG? I think Omar was a three star coming out of Fla when he came here.
IIRC, Omar was no sure-fire starter after J5 left. Of course, once he held his own against Oklahoma, the other two QBs faded and, like Hurley, opted to transfer to I-AA schools.
I guess Glaud falls into that category, too.

I think more *** kids have come here and done bupkus than have been successful. IIRC, Omar was a ** guy we signed when a *** guy blew us off for Boston College. That guy...forget his name...did nothing for BC.

Didnt we beat out Kansas State for Anthony Turner? Recrutiing is such a crap shoot. For about 5 years straight our #1 recruit through Steele or whomever did nothing for us if he even made it all four years. Virgil Robinson rings a bell. Nick Lawrence is another name that comes to mind. Basketball is the same way.Flipper wrote:I think more *** kids have come here and done bupkus than have been successful. Omar was going to Kansas State but they switched coaches and ge got caught with no offers but us, Buffalo and Marshall. Oddly enough...a coaching change at KSU brought us Schilz as well.
Hurley is NOT going to SEMO. A spot opened at Delaware...a schooll he almost went to initally... so he wil now be a Blue Hen. Good luck to Trent...

Right, I think Anthony Turner had an Iowa State offer that was pulled. We did not "beat" Iowa State out for him.

Delaware is a great I-AA school. I hope he does well there.Flipper wrote:Omar was going to Kansas State but they switched coaches and ge got caught with no offers but us, Buffalo and Marshall. Oddly enough...a coaching change at KSU brought us Schilz as well.

Didn't another former Falcon QB leave to become a Blue Hen a few years back?
