Stroh Center Policies and Procedures

Post by BGSU SID »

Good evening everyone! Opening the Stroh Center has been an awesome experience for all of us in BGSU Athletics, but I know there have been some questions and concerns in regards to the policies at the Stroh Center. In an effort to provide information and make everyone's experience as good as possible, the Stroh Center staff has put together a couple of policy documents that we hope will help to alleviate any confusion in relation to what is and isn't allowed in the building. Fans can view the documents by going to BGSUFalcons.com, going to the Inside BGSU tab near the top of the page and then scrolling down to StrohCenter.com.

You can also view the documents directly through these links:

Stroh Center A-Z: http://bgsufalcons.com/documents/2012/1 ... Center.pdf?
Stroh Center Policies and Procedures: http://bgsufalcons.com/documents/2012/1 ... Policy.pdf?

Thank you all for your feedback as we continue to work through the opening of the new arena! While I don't actually work in the Stroh Center, if you have questions about anything contained in the document, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll do my best to get an answer for you.

Thank you!

If I print the documents, will I be able to bring them into the Stroh Center? Or will they be confiscated at the door? ;)

No weapons including fireworks, firearms, knives, mace, pepper spray, sticks, clubs, or
chains over six inches in length. Also, no belts made of metal or chains or including
spikes and/or studs.

Damn. I am glad you pointed the above out. I ll talk to my kids before they go.

I didn't see anything in there that was objectionable.

If the phrase "No idiots who want to act like dumbasses" is in there I'm sure some feathers will be ruffled...

Why does it say in the A-Z guide that alcohol is allowed to be bought in the Anderson Club but then says this under the Code of Conduct:

Guests shall not consume alcoholic beverages on Stroh Center property.

I can still remember going to a Metallica concert at Savage Hall in Toledo years ago...they had a sign on the door that read "No Threatening Jewelry Allowed".

That was back when it was popular to wear necklaces that said "I'm going to kill you".

Yeah, sounds great. Instead of expecting simple common sense and common courtesy, I'll go read documents so I can be fully prepared to attend a basketball game at the Stroh.

If you fear that any of your actions/clothing/accesories may not be allowed into the Stroh Center, I recommend you do just that.

We're not talking War and Peace here, either. Just read it through pretty quickly and got all the answers I needed.

Is it odd that umbrellas are forbidden? I realize at outside events they can be a dripping and sight line hazard but inside on a rainy day walk from a parking lot? Seems funny when linked with the weapons, etc.

Ask John Steed if an umbrella is a weapon...
