.....not to mention the rest of the "home and away" schedule for 2012!

Someone should ask the AD about Akron.

Exactly. They could have tossed us Akron or even newcomer UMass at least after what happened last year. But instead, we get sent to the defending MAC East Champ, on the road. And also as mentioned in another post, we now play in the strongest division in both sports.

My biggest gripe with all of this though is, "we"....BG.....is the only one affected by this realignment stuff, and it's happening for the THIRD time! The first time they moved us to the West it only affected BG, the second time they moved us back to the East it only affected BG, and this time moving BG back to the West again is only affecting BG. This is only "news" to BG, because the rest of the MAC East and MAC West schools are unchanged, again. I think it would have been interesting if they mixed the divisions up (ex: North & South), and I would have been happy to see UMass moved to the West and that we stayed put, but this move just flat out pisses me off.

Good. We get OU at their place. After what they did to us in Athens in 2010, I'd think we'd look forward to returning to their place and kicking their candy-@$$es all over Athens.

We will continue to be the whipping buy of the MAC for some reason. What did who do to make all this happen to BGSU? Someone needs to get this curse broken.

That's not the point transfer.........the point is that if everyone in the division does not play the same teams, then there should be some balance in the schedule, or........only count the games against division foes but schedule the crossover games for fillers.
This athletic administration and the conference administration are a MESS! I guess both are at the bottom of the pay scale and "you get what you pay for" and in both cases we are OVER PAYING!

Idaho, Rhode Island, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Buffalo. Ticket department has their work cut out for them selling that schedule. Possibly all Saturday games?

I wish they would have split Northern and Toledo, so we had 1 at home, 1 on the road each year.

Wow, no kidding. Of course, a winning team playing an exciting brand of football would help. Wouldn't it?

Is there any athletic grouping that has divisions where all the teams play the same teams each year? I don't think so. Not in the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, NCAA, NAIA, OHSAA... And I doubt any other league with division uses the "only count the games in the division" scheduling.

Ummmm, we had a chance to do that THIS year, at home, and lost, as we blew that game in the fourth quarter. Ohio used to be an easy win, but not anymore. They have beaten us four out of the last five including three consecutive and they have won the MAC East three times in the last six years.

Very true. A fast start and people wont care who we're playing.

On the flip side, the next season will have games against, Tulsa, Toledo, and N. Illinois.

The last time we were in the west, we had the same rotation with NIU and Toledo.
