Winners and Losers Of Re-Alignment

Post by psc2009 »

My biggest winners are the fans and alums of BG and Toledo. That rivalry game just got even more epic! But, here is TMD's complete breakdown.

Things just got a lot tougher in the West.

I agree with much of that. I worked with two Ohio grads who were licking their chops about this news today, and a Toledo guy who was laughing at how "BG got screwed again!" I couldn't disagree. The only good thing about the move for BG IMO is that it intensifies the rivalry a little more with Toledo. I think BG would have been a potential MAC East candidate this year had we stayed in the East. I feel without a doubt we could have beaten Akron and UMass, should beat Miami and Kent State, and maybe get one against Temple or Ohio. But in the West, I can see us finishing in the middle to the bottom. I don't see a West team that I would say there's a win to. I think you will see Ohio win the East again, and you will see the MAC West beat itself up as even EMU is a player now. It's just like in men's hoops, I think we are a bottom team in the East, but if you put us in the West, I think we're at the top.
GO BG!!!
