Think this already has been posted on the "other schools" section...but perhaps not this exact article.... Not too sorry to see him go early.... he's one tough cookie!

Re: Toledo's Eric Page leaving early for NFL Draft
He's a great college athlete but I do not see him getting much of a look by the pros. Height and speed eliminate so many great players each year and he might be another casualty of that filter. I wish him well but he'll likely go late round or UDFA IMO.

My take is, he'll make a little money and then be cut and out of football..

I think he could make a decent living as a return man in the league.

He would have looked splendid in Brown and Orange, but I have seen this kid play for many years and wish him nothing but the best!

He may get drafted by the Browns or Bengals. He looked spectacular in Blue and Gold.
Re: Toledo's Eric Page leaving early for NFL Draft
He probably would have benefited from one more year in school, but put him as a third receiver with a decent qb and he can have a nice 5-7 year career. He's much better than barnes, sanders, Jorden or the other guys we've had. He can catch and has speed. How do you think he'd do with the Pats or Lions? I think he could be a 50-60 catch guy.

I really don't see the guy being much of a factor at WR in the NFL. At returner, definitely.

Better than Jorden certainly, but I will take the wide-receiving skills of Sanders or Barnes over him any day. His advantage is the returns and all those bubble screens T-town uses.Drago wrote:He probably would have benefited from one more year in school, but put him as a third receiver with a decent qb and he can have a nice 5-7 year career. I've been wondering if this would happen for a while now. He has nothing to gain by staying in Toledo, aside from the opportunity to get injured. Short WR's are getting some respect in the NFL right now, and Page has the speed to compete.
Bad for them. Good for us.
My prediction: he might not get noticed in the draft, but he will next September.

Re: Toledo's Eric Page leaving early for NFL Draft
His game speed is better than his straight line speed...but the NFL uses straight line speed as a primary qualifier/disqualifier when judging talent...so while I think he has the skills to be a good return man/slot WR, he might (like Lance Moore) take a bit to get his shot.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Pretty sure the Lion's don't need him with the stable they currently have. Johnson, Burleson & Young are fine w/me. Sidebar - where they need help is on the D.Drago wrote:He probably would have benefited from one more year in school, but put him as a third receiver with a decent qb and he can have a nice 5-7 year career. Well, he has the advice of the NFL's draft board, so I highly doubt if he's going to be a UDFA. Question: is he a better player than Joshua Cribbs?

Well, chalk up another one for the "stay in school" side.
Page blew out his ACL and his NFL career may be over before it even began.
These stories totally suck when it happens to good kids like him.
