National Anthem

I'm going on record here saying that the young lady who sang The Star Spangled Banner at the Women vs. Austin Peay game this past Friday sang it beautifully, sang it well, and sang the real melody. No fooling around with the notes.

It caused quite a happy stir among the people sitting around me. Very much appreciated!!!

Steven Tyler did not "scream" the National Anthem. He sounded like, shocker I know, Steven Tyler!!! He did his trademark scream at the exact spot he should have, sang all the words right, didn't add any unnecessary trills and kept it under 2 minutes. He did a good job...much better than a lot of National Anthems I have heard. His name is Steven Tyler, not Josh Groban. What did you expect!?!? If the entire band had been there, it would have sounded just like Aerosmith. Stepping off my soap box, please dismount from your high horse.

You are absolutely correct. I saw that Steven Tyler was singing the National Anthem, and I thought, "Why did they do this to us?" But, he sang it like he sings. That would be like asking Ludacris to do the anthem, and then getting mad when he rapped the entire thing. It definitely wasn't my favorite rendition of the National Anthem, but at least he hit the notes on the page. If it were up to me, he wouldn't have been the one singing it.
