Call from BG Marketing
Hi, I just want to let those of you who talk about BG marketing issues here know, that I just received a call from the BG Sports Marketing office reminding me to come to the games tomorrow. They also were doing what they can to get me to the women's game by reminding me that they're giving out the T-Shirts during the first game. Personally, I think that this is what we need to see more of, especially for the Football games. OK, see ya later, Jeff

I got the call too. I also agree this should have been done Tuesday, when they realized that the tickets weren't going as fast as they should have been. There is no reason to have approximently 500 tickets left.
I guess the majority of the student population will just miss out on two great wins

Egads! No pleasing some folks, it seems. Sure athletics marketing ought to be a little more proactive, but it's better late than never. Tuesday they start handing out tickets, Wednesday they realize tickets aren't going fast enough for alumni to be pleased, Thursday they come up with a plan,transfer2BGSU wrote:It's ridiculous they have to take such action (but then again, it's only TU).Warthog wrote:Just seems a little late now to try to intice students to go to the game.
As for the students, for all intents and purposes this team has stunk the last couple of years. Sure, it's "only" UT that we're playing, but is Stellar Field at capacity when we play them in baseball? The students who were rabidly in love with the team have graduated, and there really hasn't been a reason for underclass students to fall in love with them since 2002. Give it time.
And the students will be there tomorrow.
They have the name "Bowling Green" on their chests, what more reason do you need?rollalongFF0304 wrote:and there really hasn't been a reason for underclass students to fall in love with them since 2002. Give it time.
Point taken about the baseball team, but for the "big 3" at BG especially, which have schedules (magnets, posters, wallet-size, et al) printed, and have upcoming games plugged in the newspaper, there should be no reason that a conference game goes unnoticed, much less one against a rival. If the team is 100-0 or 0-100, if they put on the brown and orange, that should be reason enough to get out there. If it takes winning to get people to notice, great, but not winning should never be an excuse for people not coming out.
