Even Bowling Green has not been mathematically eliminated from the possibility of hosting a first-round playoff series.
And thanks for the pick to split...you probably jinxed our whole weekend!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

This weekend is interesting.....Hammond has been on fire and NMU gives up a lot if goals, which technically should help our offense. I wouldn't be surprised with a sweep either way, but a split is more likely. It all depends on if Hammond can continue to carry the team........
All 5 of us are coming up for the game on Saturday. It will be the first BG hockey game for a couple of my kids. Looking forward to seeing Falcon Fanatic and Freak and others who are going.
Hopefully have a better showing tomorrow night. Seemed as though we came out slow and Northern jumped us right away and we weren't ready for it. Hammond seemed to be giving up the long rebounds off shots that gave them 2nd and 3rd chances in the first period.
Stay out of the penalty box and stop taking stupid penalties and we might have won tonight.
Final 4 -2 them for those of you that didn't know. Two PP goals in the first 5 minuts by Northern, it was 3 - 0 with 10 minutes to go in 1st.

Yup...can't come out flat. They had 3 goals on 9 shots and we had 1 shot at that time. We did, however outshoot them a LOT in the 3rd. I forget the exact number, but something like 14-3. I can't figure out how a couple of those didn't go in! So frustrating!
We MUST come out strong and stop taking penalties! ....Also trying hard to NOT b!tch about some of the refereeing tonight...

Bad penalties, terrible passing, beaten to just about every loose puck. Hammy left some big rebounds out there, and wasn't sharp at the start. Hate to see us have to use our one and only timeout in the 1st period, but CB was perfectly right-on to use it when he did. Maybe Scooter needs to check the gloves and skates; we looked like they were filled with cement.
That said, I still love the heart of the team. Battled right to the end. Hope (and expect) to see better tonight.

Perfect analysis of the game. I, too, expect a better game tonight!

Ironically, Mcintosh actually had the steel fall off one of his skates...
Difference between ND and NMU, NMU is/was much better prepared. Big complaint from ND fans has been there lack of preparation for games this year. Northern on the other hand, knew exactly what we were going to do before we did.
The number of games lost injuries over the past couple of years is concerning. I don't remember this many over the recent years. How much of the medical staff is going to be turning over now that Doug Boersma is leaving?
