Re: Up next: That awful institution up north
CRAWFORD HAS MISSED 5 LAYUPS!!!!!!! AND STILL TAKES IT TO THE LANE AGAINST A 6'11. HIS LAST ATTEMPT WASN'T EVEN CLOSE.
Re: Up next: That awful institution up north
Pretty much typical Crawford performance but... I could be drunk while posting this. Right Bleedorange?

Not in this game he didn't- Wonnel is 6'9". We haven't had a 6'11" guy since some cat named Shaw a few years back. Nevertheless, he makes some REALLY bad decisions.gmartin wrote:CRAWFORD HAS MISSED 5 LAYUPS!!!!!!! AND STILL TAKES IT TO THE LANE AGAINST A 6'11. HIS LAST ATTEMPT WASN'T EVEN CLOSE.

This stream is AWFUL- I get replay but we're missing big chunks of the game while they show every basket BG makes. BG fans just missed Thomas' play.

I missed the first half but Crawford played a pretty good game in my eyes. He has also played a pretty good game in each of the last 4 games.
Re: Up next: That awful institution up north
Waiting for crowd to filter out then heading to Spots then hockey game.
Crawford, 3-13fg, 0-2 3 pt, 2-4 ft, 2 assists, 3 turnovers. Missed the open man on my count 7 times. And on defense he was responsible for guarding 7 made 3 pointers by the Rockets. If this were football and he was a QB I would not want to see his rating.
None the less despite his horrific performance and piss poor team free throw shooting we prevail and go to 7-4 in the MAC. Battle for #4 seed is Wednesday down in Athens.

He played a terrible second half as well. He had two good plays. Got yelled at twice by coach Orr and pulled for a few minutes after a god awful three point attempt.Globetrotter wrote:I missed the first half but Crawford played a pretty good game in my eyes. At times he as the only one who could get an open shot. What are his steal numbers? How about rebounds. He frankly was not nearly as bad as his stats show today...I think you have a vendetta.gmartin wrote:Waiting for crowd to filter out then heading to Spots then hockey game.

That was one of the most fun and exciting games I have seen in a long time. After it was 29-39 they played so hard and fought back. If they continue to play like that they can beat anyone in the MAC.TG1996 wrote:Oh yeah, and we won.

If the tournament was today what would the seedings be?
Re: Up next: That awful institution up north
From ESPN, and wow, so many errors.
TOLEDO, Ohio --Scott Thomas scored 21 points and A'uston Calhoun added 20 as Bowling Green beat Toledo 66-63 on Saturday for the Eagles' fourth straight win. Thomas, who recorded four steals for the Eagles, leads the Mid-American Conference in steals and sits at fourth overall on Bowling Green's career steals list.

You shoot 3-13 from the field and have more turnovers than assists as a point guard...not a "pretty good game" no matter how you spin it.

Re: Up next: That awful institution up north
If tournament would start today BG would be #4 seed and get first round bye. Catching UB and Akron nearly impossible but we are only 1 game behind Kent for #3 seed.
Re: Up next: That awful institution up north
Awesome to see the guys put together a legitimate winning streak down the stretch. Anywhere I could catch a replay or at least highlights of the game?

Re: Up next: That awful institution up north
My gosh, Crawford is not NBA material but causes difficulty one-on-one vs. a point, quick hands helping on defense and handles the ball fairly well when nobody is open often due to a lack of movement by others on the team. I'll admit he forces things - passes and penetration to the basket. And yes he dribbles a lot - as would be expected by a guard that runs a lot of pick-and-roll on offense.
As always we have a team of players that don't have complete games - some less than others. Accept these guys for what they are and you may just enjoy their competitive nature and the fact they are currently on a fairly decent roll in the West swing.
Really enjoyed seeing Thomas up front in the 3/4-court press. His anticipation of passes is great despite not having the best lateral quickness in the conference. Calhoun was a beast posting up despite a travel or two. And Oglesby's presence around the basket was awesome despite his touch at the line. Despite the flaws I really enjoy this team. Wish there were 4,800 people that enjoyed them every home Saturday like me because a full Stroh is wonderful.
