Top 25

Post by zete »

I am trying to understand why our Woman's Basketball Team which has a very good record is not mentioned in the Top 25 nationally. Actually they do not even rate with a few votes that would place them in the top 30. Is it that our league, the MAC, is that weak or something else entirely? Maybe someone is not doing their job and promoting us like they should be. As far as I am concerned this is unacceptable. A team with multiple 20 game win seasons at the Division I level and not getting any recognition is very very poor. Heck, no wonder we don't see students at the games. When you win as much as we do and have an image problem such as mentioned above something is not right. Like stated either someone is not promoting the league and its teams, or we just plainly are not viewed well regionally. Not good at all.

We aren't in the top 25 or 30 because we aren't a top 25 team...our RPI is probably in the 60's somewhere and we just lost our last game...

Yep. We deserved it in the past, but not this year. We should have won that game by double-digits last week if we are a Top 25 caliber team.

RPI, ok, I took a look and see that no men's MAC team is listed in the top 68 either. That clarifies just where our dismal league rates nationally. I guess that is why it is always nice to win a few tournament games regardless which league team does it. It seems to be a loosing uphill battle year after year.

BG actually had one Top Twenty Five vote in the AP poll before the UT game.
