"American" BGSU flag??

Post by Falconfreak90 »

Yo,

I saw a dude at the BG/ut women's game last week with a BG flag I have to have. It looks like an American flag with the BG logo where the stars are and the stripes are all orange, brown and white. I asked this dude where he got it and he said "the bookstore on campus". I've searched every bookstore site I can find with no luck. Anyone know what store he may be referring? Since my birthday is Sunday and we'll be in BG Saturday, I figure what better gift to me from me? :-D

Thanks in advance and Go Falcons!

Personally, I don't like these types of flags. Can't explain why, but it just makes me queazy to look at them. Maybe because the one I normally see is a UT one???

That would definitely affect your view, Tom...what an awful color combination and logo. :vom: :D But the BG flag will restore your outlook.

You may not like the combination but most Falcon fans I saw at the UT game were wearing blue pants, and a couple of assistant coaches and what appeared to be a student trainer appeared on the BG bench with blue shirts. You may want to consider an orange and blue flag or something on that order since both colors seem popular with Falcon fans. Just a thought....

It's not necessarily the colors...I just feel uneasy with the resemblance to the pattern of the American flag. That pattern to me should always be R-W-B with stars.

I agree-I'm one of those people that still get a chill when I hear the SSB and see the flag. I've seen these things from other schools and they do bug me a little.

I'll go one step further - I think it's just wrong to mess with Old Glory. Only modification should be the number of stars if we were to add another state and only use it for patriotic purposes at athletic events. It even bothers me at the Olympics when used as a cape - wave as small one or a large one on a pole. Make a flag of unique design for our/your school.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

One of the student fans at the women's basketball game this afternoon was waving this flag, and Freddie actually brought it onto the court during pregame intros.
